Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels, etc. AMC puts out high quality shows, everyone else is pooping out garbage.

Even if you take HBO out of the mix, FX is still a better cable channel for current shows.

Not really sure adding a third show under AMC is going to swing the balance in their favor.

Also, if you're going to judge channels based on ratings then CBS is by far the best channel out there.

Breaking Bad outscores all those shows on meracritic.

Metacritic compiles a list of critics that have only viewed the first three or so episodes of said season.

And if we're going by Metacritic.

Breaking Bad is f*cking awesome. I'm not denying that and I know sammy isn't either. The thing is, HBO has a resume full of f*cking awesome shows.

Plus I'm pretty sure Breaking Bad does not outscore The Wire on Metacritic

The Killing would have a 35 if it was a consensus of the entire season.

While AMC is indeed a great channel with great original programming, HBO can't be beat.

Also FX isn't too bad (Sons of Anarchy, Justified)

Walking Dead TV series isn't even good. Read the comics to see how far they went into butchering the series.

This would be a much more compelling argument if AMC wasn't responsible for The Killing.

Roots says hi.

Also, putting The Walking Dead on a list of quality AMC shows would be like putting True Blood on a HBO equivalent. And AMC is responsible for The Killing, one of the worst shows in recent memory.

While I agree that HBO has more quality content than AMC, the quality content AMC does have just speaks much louder to me. Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead are insanely good, and are just slightly behind Star Trek: the Original series as far as my favorite shows go :) .

AMC is nice and all but their commercials are so long I'm starting to delay watching the shows by like 15 minutes to fast forward through them. I swear for a 60 minute show you get like 42 minutes of actual programming.

I have been digging TMC (turner classic movies). All of the educational channels that I would watch have turned to complete and utter disgusting reality TV network. These TV stations are now for ratings only now attracting; rednecks with American Diggers, sloth-y overweight/overprotective moms who cling to Dance Moms, Parking Wars on A&E(Arts & Entertainment), you know, for all those artsy people watching A&E. Seriously, it is sick how television has devolved into nothing buy cheaply produced reality tv shows for all of your idiots in America to veg out to. AMC on the other hand is on the other end of the spectrum which is trying to make quality TV. I know its not educational which I was talking about previously, but at least it is thoughtful dramas.

I have to agree. AMC went from a channel dedicated to decent older films, to a channel dedicated to that AND amazing television dramas.
