I got mine at launch.
The first year and a half was fun as hell (Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Zack & Wiki, Super Paper Mario, Godfather: Blackhand Edition).
Then came 2008 which was solid in the first half but had an absolutely horrible 2nd half. The 2nd half of 2008 was really the only time in the Wii's lifespan that I didn't feel like playing it.
However, 2009 is off to a great start and looks fantastic the rest of the way. In fact 2009 is the first year since launch that I think the Wii's line-up can go toe to toe with the 360/PS3 lineups. It's a little hard to believe but when you sit down and look at how many quality games have already been released (i.e. Punchout!, Excitebots, Little King's Story, Madworld, House of the Dead: Overkill, Tiger Woods, Boom Blox Bash Party, Klonoa, Rune Factory: Frontier, Broken Sword) and then look at all the promising titles right over the horizon (Metroid Prime Trilogy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resort, The Conduit, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Cursed Mountain, A boy and his blob, Dead Space: Extraction, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, Overlord: Dark Legend, Phantom Brave: We Meet Again, etc.) it's clear that the Wii has something special going on in 2009. In the end I think the 360 (or PS3) will have more AAA games this year but the Wii will have significantly more AA games.
