How was the Ubisoft conference? I missed it. Anything worthy of note?jg4xchamp

Well I rate the MS conference a 4/10.

EA gets a 7/10.

I haven't seen the UBI one (And don't plan to after hearing some of the comments here. :P)

HA, after the disappointing MS conference, I said to myself "There's no way that I'm going to watch Ubisofts." I was right.

I though EA's was pretty good. Sure, some was casual, but there were also some good stuff like Need for Speed Hot Persuit.

My little brother said it was epic. :P

Watch the beginning, when they do Children of Eden.

Ubisofts thing was too funny. Shaun White's Skateboarding... That's Super Mario Sunshine but with 'tude and gingers. Joel McHale was pretty funny too. And did anyone watch it on G4? In the beginning when they were demoing that Rez looking game and the screen cut to some dude in the G4 studio just sitting there, making faces... God. Lmao.

Pretty bad. They showed more arm flailing motion games. About the only two games worth looking at were Ghost Recon and Rayman.

How underwhelming.

Microsoft was just horrible, Ubisoft is hit and miss, and EA did pretty good and was the best for the day.mitu123

you're probably the only member here that can truley appreciate what I say when I say that they did disgusting things to Rare on that stage that I wont actually say cuz it already got me modded :cry:

Still need to catch up of what was shown today. So it sounds like Mircosoft's was okay, EA's was good, and Ubisoft's wasn't great. I should check the video of MGS: Rising and I am sad that Mirror's Edge 2 wasn't revealed.:(

That looks amazing. I liked Rayman better when it was 2D (it just did more to distinguish itself IMO) so I'll definitely be looking into this. This gen needs all the platformers it can get and the art design is beautiful.

Whoops. Time to go to bed. Naw, but I'm so used to Ubi being the gods of disappointment that I put it on them. Kinda sucks that EA didn't show anything Mass Effect or Dragon Age related either. They said we'd see something from both in 2011.

The only I thing I even care about from Ubisoft (besides Rayman) at this point is getting a sequel to Prince of Persia 08, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I know PoP 2008 had some pretty big flaws (like the ridiculous easiness), but I just loved the atmosphere and the super graceful "flow" that the platforming had (needed a bit more variety though). I also really dug the story and the characters.

I know PoP 2008 had some pretty big flaws (like the ridiculous easiness), but I just loved the atmosphere and the super graceful "flow" that the platforming had (needed a bit more variety though). Rising looks awesome and Child of Eden looks pretty cool. I would love to see both having PS Move support.Wanderer5

I feel like they will. I wanna say Child of Eden uses Kinect (didn't see that part of the conference though) so it should apply to Move and seeing the mechanics for Rising it seems very likely.

it isnt Rare's choice what microsoft has them develop.

Well, I can wait. I just hope they work out a way to keep the open world structure intact but balance the difficulty. I think the open world structure is one of the things that lead to the game being as easy as it was. They seemed to have a hard time creating a competent difficult progression (which is why the difficulty just sort of stayed static for the entire game) while allowing the player to tackle the game in the order they want.

I don't think they'll make a true Banjo sequel. I think they view Nuts and Bolts as a true modern vision of Banjo. I could be wrong though.  

Rare has simply lost their spark IMO even if they still make decent games from time to time. I don't think their talents transitioned all that well into the new era.

I feel like something has to show up in the next few days. There's no way in hell they've just been working on crappy Kinect dance games.

My brother (who I live with) just got a DS and I was shocked that there's no side-scroller-Metroid on it. All there is Metroid Prime Hunters which looks pretty damn unappealing.
