I would say only a little more than 10% of the games in my collection have been finished (and when I say finished I don't mean 100% with every easter egg cracked- I just mean the main straightforward campaign). Am I the only one?

only very few of my games with actual storylines (no Fifa stuff etc.) have never been finished. Probably my only ones are - Commando's 2 (got bored very easily) Guitar hero 2(if you can count it) where i had 2 songs left on expert to do and probably Resident Evil Outbreak (terrible game)

Yes, Every single one, except the ones that I have recently brought and are still playing.

The only game I have had for ages and havent finished, is FFX, and thats because everytime I get far into it, something happens...

1st time: Seymour and Anima
My memory card got stolen

2nd time: Just after Al-bhed Home (On the Airship)

I accidentally deleted it

3rd time: Seymour and Anima again

Somebody deleted it

4th time: Zanarkand

Dont know, my save file just dissapeared...

I am currently at Mushroom Rock.

It takes me around 2 to 3 days to finish most games (Excluding RPG's obviously)

I just finished 25 to life in 2 days, and I finished DK 1, 2, 3 in 3 days...

I finish every game I play, otherwise its a waste of time playing them.

This brings up an interesting point. Buying a game is kinda like a gamble. You never know what you're going to get out of it. I've spent $60 on games and halfway through been so bored I just couldn't continue. And I've bought $30 games ona whim that ended up keeping me entertained for multiple playthroughs.

On the whole I'd say I beat most of what I buy, but I would never pretend that it's more than 75% (probably less actually). The risk of buying a game I won't finish is just part of this hobby for me. Because I'm an impulsive personality and prone to snap judgements. Of course that risk is often rewarded when the great ones come along. Like when I bought the first Halo thinking "meh, maybe I'll enjoy this" and ended up playing it off and on for over three years.

I've probably finnished 30-40% of my games. I don't usually finnish a game if I get bored with it before I reach the end or if the story is too dull.

I'm like the TC I've probably beat around 10% of my game collection. There are very few "must see the ending" games in my collection.

Probably about 55% of the games I've beaten, but not 100%. In fact, I don't think I've ever beaten a game at 100% before. But I'm just glad I buy my games used and cheap because like someone else stated before in this thread, you never know what you're going to get, whether you'll be bored to death halfway through or enjoy it to the very end. Sometimes, though, it feels like a chore to try to beat these games just so you can say "Oh, well, that's another game in my collection that I can say I've beaten."

Agreed. It's unfortunate though because I tend to leave a lot of games unfinished.

I try to, but sometimes I stop in the middle of video games. Actually, I stopped four hours into Red Steel, Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time, and Castlevania: Portrait Of Ruin. The action just didn't pick up fast enough.

I'd say I beat around fifty percent of my video games. I don't do the extra stuff usually, though. Sometimes if the video game is really good, then I'll do it, but the campaign is usually enough for me.

I try to play through the majority of them. I've gotten behind quite a bit over the last year or so that most of my game time has been spent in WoW and on other MMOs.

There are some that just aren't that appealing that I've bought but never get that much into. Most of those end up getting sold.

Over the last 5 years or so about 60% mark for me. I tend to buy games 1 or 2 new and then 4-5 used/good deal games at once so its never just pick up one game for me... lol. My backlog right now is around 25-30 games.

I would say I have beaten around 1/2 to 2/3's of my games. I mean owning like 575 games makes it kinda hard to have beaten all games!

I've beaten about 70% of the games I own. For some reason, it's the handheld games I have trouble keeping up with. I still have to beat over half of my GBA/DS games.

I'm usually pretty good about beating my games. I even made a list of backlogged games to go through. I did that math and I've beaten around 75% of my games, which I feel is pretty good, but some I've barely touched and I feed guilty about that.

I beat 30-40% of my PS2 and PS3 games. I beat probably 75% of my PSP games, and 50% of my DS games.I haven't finished a Wii game yet, but I'll eventually finish RE4. The other Wii games I own just haven't seemed to be worth finishing.

Many years ago I used to be, but not so much anymore. I've tried to slow down my game purchasing so I can work on clearing out my backlog which is mostly lengthy JRPG's.

I finish some of the games I buy. Not all of them, though. Sometimes their time is past, and the next big thing has come along. Apart from that, there is also a good number of games that I play constantly, such as WoW or Soul Calibur III.

99% of the time I will, but sometimes there is a game that will come along that I have no desire to finish because I don't care for it, or it is so open ended ie Viva Pinata, that there is no real "finish" point.

I'm the same. I don't finish half of the games I buy...but I keep them in hopes that I'll finish them someday...when I'm 50 and retired. I guess I just have a life.

I have about 300+ games but have had the chance to finish the really good ones.

I try to unlock most of the achievements on 360 games but normally while I just run through the campaign. If it is redundant or tedious then I just forget it.

I do finish them but it takes me forever. Normally I'll get a game and start playing it but then get a new game and start playing the new one and putting the old game on hold.

I used to buy every game that was reviewed well and force myself to finish each one even if I didn't want to. Now I buy the games I'm sure I'll be interested in. So yeah, now I finish every game I buy, but I make sure I'm buying games that I'll want to finish.

I can't remember the last time where I didn't finish a game. Unless I absolutely hate the game (which rarely happens), I finish pretty much every game I buy.

Well, I'm with the topic creator. I RARELY finish all my games. Here's a relatively short list of the game I did manage to finish. Half Life 2, Resident Evil 4 (both my favorite games ever), All 4 first XBOX 1 Splinter Cells, Resident Evil 1,2,3 Code Veronica. Oh, also Far Cry Instincts and Chronicles of Riddick. I never finished either of the Halo's, Metroid Prime 1, Silent Hill's (any), Metal Gear Solid's (any), or Mario games. Pretty sorry, huh?

only games that I havent beaten the main storyline are metal gear solid 3(im halfway the storyline,i dont fell like playing ps2 anymore) ,vice city stories (dull game, only time i brought a game for blind famboism) and halo 2( boring campaign, however i do play the multiplayer now and then )
