OMG that monster on the bridge! Did you see the scale of the level, its massive, you get an awesome view as he is climbing down the stairs. dvader654That video made me start a new character in Demon's Souls.:P

That is an amazing trailer. Superb art direction and massive, gruesome monsters. Demon's Souls beat me like a rented mule, but suffering is good for the soul, so I am still looking forward to Dark Souls.
Nice trailer, got me even more pumped for this game. This E3 trailer is amazing. Linky

Much better than the demons souls trailer. I am really thinking of pre-ordering this game, but judging by the gameplay fottage I saw enemies seem to be way too slow, just like in Demons Souls (which made Demons Souls one of the easiest games I have ever played). But outside of me being worried about the difficulty everything else seems to be soo good.
That game was so hard I couldnt even beat it on my first playthrough, the last boss level drained me so bad (permanetly!) but had fun beating it months later in a subsequent playthrough. There really is nothing else on the market like these games, and I will always remember how much I died and how hard it was to win lol. I am 100% behind this series. That is an amazing trailer. either they passed the controller on to an average player or he got a little better as the interview went on. demon's souls tended to do that too. players get beaten until they get better. Here is a lengthy interview along with a lot of gameplay footage. The guy playing isn't terribly good, but it definitely looks like cIassic Demon's Souls radness. The new fire spell looks pretty effective. I wish they'd had a more seasoned player controlling the demonstration. He makes it look clunky and doesn't seem to know when to attack or block.

I'll just play it offline. The worst feature of the original was all the griefing from the invading players. I was forced to play it offline, or at least pull the ethernet cord when invaded, until I got that spell or miracle thingy that forces them to leave. (can't remember which it was) I hate playing against others in video games period, but especially online, so it never sat well with me. Oh well.RandoIphI got in the habit of playing offline when I decided to get the Platinum. After that it just stuck. I wasn't crazy about being invaded either.
THAT BOSS FIGHT! Wow!
Maneaters all over again. I love it.
This is the best footage I've seen from the E3 showfloor. The guy playing it doesn't suck, and you see some new areas because of it. It is a touch more spoilery than the other videos since there is a boss fight at the end.

That boss battle is awesome, so badass looking. I dont like how it says :you hollowed" when you die, id rather it say "you died"
Noooooooooooooooooo not again *weeps* time to die alot :P
This is the best footage I've seen from the E3 showfloor. Here are some more details on the Pyromancer courtesy of Siliconera.
Chipping away at the boar armed with a hatchet in hand wasn't effective. I switched to fireball mode, which luckily was the beast's weakness. I made my Pyroclast toss a fireball, but missed the running boar and set a group of skeletons ablaze. Well, at least I didn't have to fight those monsters anymore! The downside about Pyroclasts, aside from low stamina, is this cIass has a limited number of fireball charges. After those are used up, the only way you can defeat enemies is with your melee weapon.
Namco Bandaigave the Pyroclast another "ability" or perhaps I should say special item. In the E3 demo, the Pyroclast had an item that allowed him to curse another person's game. The effect is similar to changing the world tendency inDemon's Souls, but it only affects a single player chosen at random byDark Souls. An immediate effect are larger mobs instead of a few enemies that attack cursed players. Cursed? You can break the hex by finding the item the other player dropped in your world.
Before i knew what the item was for, I used it and probably made someone else's game even more difficult. But, revenge is a dish best served cold inDark Souls. A few minutes later someone else playing Dark Souls must have used the same item. All of the sudden my game was full of pink zombies that mercilessly tore my character apart forcing me to restart at the last bonfire I visited.

I know how to beat the boar already, it will charge at you, you gotta side step, it's head will hit a wall and you get a few seconds to stab it's weak point.

Kotaku - Dark Souls invents another way to grief players.
In Demon's Souls players were able to invade each others game as a Black Phantom, to hunt down the other player and try to kill them. In spiritual sequelDark Souls, the developers have a more ingenious way to harass others.
The Pyromancer has the ability to summon a Gravelord, setting it free upon another player's world to attack and harass that player until it's killed. The Pyromancer can't decide who it is they're attacking, they won't even be told how the attack goes. So why do it? Because, From Software thinks, sometimes it's fun to be a little malicious, a little tormenting to a stranger
