Fun when in a clan, but tedious and repetetive with easy and ignorant AI.

User Rating: 7 | Fallen Earth: Welcome to the Apocalypse PC
I bought this game about a month after release, and quickly started up a clan with a couple friends of mine. We achieved roughly 75 members.

The game is great when you have other people to talk to about your quests and grouping with.

Grouping and group play is not required in this game, except for in PvP. The AI is stupid and runs right toward you and just fires their little weapons at you doing small amounts of damage while you kill them one after another. You would think they would retreat and regroup...take cover...something. But, they just stand there, allowing you to kill them...with the occasional going prone, but still simple.

Quests are monotonous and tedious. Some chain quests will go on and on and on only to reward you a food item 10 levels below your current level, and ends up being vendor food anyway. Quest rewards are stupid. When you are level 30, for example, and complete a quest, they often give you level 10-15 items as a reward, so they are just about worthless to you. Only worth is the couple chips you get selling them to the vendor. Loot is also a disappointment.

Players are not rewarded for exploration. The maps in each "Sector" of the game are massive, and can take 10-15 minutes to drive from one side to the other in a vehicle going 40 miles per hour. The problem is, when you get a ways off of any of the roads, there is nothing...just barren landscape with trees, grass and the occasional rock that heeds your straight-line movement. There aren't any enemies. There aren't many scavenging areas, and the few that there are are weak.

About 98% of all quests are static to everyone, so everyone is doing the same thing. Very little Dynamic quests that are on-demand and original. Think of Star Wars Galaxies in the early days when you'd get a quest to hunt someone down and they would be out in the middle of nowhere, a dynamic location that may change if you fail & try the quest again. Not in Fallen Earth. The quests are always in the same location, if you die, if you do the quest again, if someone else does the quest. Replay value on additional characters following your first will be tedious and unoriginal.

Crafting is about an 7.5/10. There are a lot of items, but not much in way of customizability. Everyone with a certain type of gun has the exact same gun. No additions, no modifications, no enhancements or anything. Some items take too much time to break down or create. Again, I think of Star Wars Galaxies where they had 50 different sub-types of a type of metal. And depending on which you used, the outcome of your crafting would be better or worse. So (in SWG) you may have the same weapon as I do, but mine may do more damage if I used better materials to make it. Not in Fallen Earth...everything is the same for everyone. No automatic mining either. Everything needs to be done by pointing and clicking. No mining machines, and no in-game macros. Also, everyone can make everything in the game, if you put time and materials into it. Points are not required to be spent on the actual crafting...you get points from experience of building. So, you can make a cake one second, and build a speeder the next. Seems a bit odd to be both a master chef and a master mechanic, don't ya think?

The monetary cost of learning passive and active skills becomes increasingly unaffordable for higher-level toons.

The auction house is worthless, because everyone can build everything, so no need to buy anything from other players, unless it is out of laziness. Things like Ammo and raw materials that otherwise need to be scavenged for manually go quickly. But, crafted weapons, armor, etc.. do not, if at all.

95% of the enjoyment I got out of this game was from my Clan Mates. This is Aspi, to "The Lost", if any of you are out there...thanks for the great time! Look me up as 'Aspi' in other MMO's, namely: Star Trek Online. Hopefully that one will be a winner!
