Amazing game with very high fun factor

User Rating: 10 | Everybody's Golf PS4

Here is my review based on early impressions. Admittedly, I have only played the game for 4 hours so my 10 could still turn into an 8 if the game has faults you only notice later on.

Scoring the game anywhere from a low of 8 to a high of 10 is reasonable. The game is a lot like its predecessor Hot Shots Golf 3 which is a good thing. Everybody's Golf graphics look better than Hot Shots Golf 3 and it has new courses which is welcomed.

What I could nit-pick and deduct a point for is the graphics are not absolutely spectacular. The sky in the game and the grass on the fairway look really good. Buildings in the game look just above tolerable and are an example of what could look better. I could also nit-pick that some courses are too arcadey, with extra large cups or tornado cups. I believe you can pick tournaments though, one being more arcadey and the other one being more realistic. I also believe the game gets less arcadey as you get further in, but I am not sure.

Everybody's Golf has a lot of charm. When you unlock a versus battle it is somewhat of a reminder of Mike Tysons Punchout in that the characters you challenge have a profile. For example, one of your opponents, a little boy, likes to play soccer over golf it says in his profile. This is an example of the excellent presentation. Everybody's Golf uses the three button press method to take shots which I strongly prefer over games that use the analog stick controls to take shots.

The game can be a little bit overwhelming at first while you get use to the gameplay and menus. Once you get to your first or second versus match, the game should have you drawn in. Four hours in and I haven't even unlocked golf-kart karting or fishing. The game's main aspect golfing and presentation alone make me give the game a 10/10.

Everybody's Golf has a lower price when they could have charged full price. The game is a joy to play and has an old-school charm that should draw you in.
