There are multiple ways in playing Dishonored by sneaking around, hacking and slashing or summoning rats to help you.

The last time I've really enjoyed playing a first-person shooter was back in 2008 and since then there hasn't been any enjoyable or good shooters apart from Call of Duty or Battlefield series. Dishonored is a shooter unlike other games I've seen with a mix of stealth and using magical abilities and skills around your enemies and environments.

Story takes off where Corvo, who was once a bodyguard for the Empress. Framed for her murder and empowered with supernatural abilities, you become an assassin to seek revenge on those who ruined your life. The choices you make will shape your fate and that of the empire around you.

Gameplay: Like most shooters you're carrying a gun around, but in Dishonored you can wield both a pistol gun/crossbow and a sword at the same time. Using the L1 to fire your weapon and R1 to use sword attacks; while fighting against enemies you can hold or tap R2 to block/parry their attacks. One of the main features in Dishonored is sneaking around enemies without alerting anyone, if you sneak up from behind and slice their throats. Using sleeping darts can be quite handy if you don't want to kill anyone but instead you can make them fall asleep, but you can also go behind them and suffocate them as well.

Another feature added in Dishonored is using your supernatural powers, Blink can be used to teleport from one place to another or reaching or jumping from roof to roof by hold and tapping L1 while moving around. Dark Vision can be handy to see where your enemies are either close by or far away, plus if see through objects and walls. There are other powers like Devouring Swarm where you can summon a swarm of rats which can consume corpses or attack nearest living things. Bend Time can dramatically slow the world around you for a limited time, allowing you to fight or sneak more effectively.

There are multiple ways in playing Dishonored where you can play through it normally, or playing through the game without killing anyone or not making a sound and no one knows that you exist are both the hardest challenges if you want to play through the game multiple times.

Graphics and Sound: Like a painting there's so much to see and do in Dishonored you can easily spend hours on a few side-missions and planning on how you're going to take out your enemies. You could say that most of the character animation and its environments do remind you of those canvas paintings that you see in art galleries or in museums.

However the theme-story for Dishonored set during the 1800's and early 1900's, a clever idea it does feel more like a Steampunk game with some classic history on the Plague which is still an illness which can't really be cured in Dishonored. Another important feature is that save as much as possible or don't save at all when playing through you can easily make a mistake or get killed easily if you're not too careful especially if you want to get a certain trophy for it.

This will take almost 5 GB of your hardware on your PS3 which is a lot to take but is worth it in the end. The voice acting is also an excellent touch for the game you've got the likes of Susan Sarandon, Brad Dourif, Carrie Fisher, Michael Madsen, Billy Lush, Lena Headey and Chloƫ Grace Moretz. All a good line-up on actors putting their time in doing the voices in Dishonored.

Overall: Too bad there isn't any online multiplayer but there should be more DLC on the way through PSN so be sure to check that out. Trophy support is added but like I said in my review there will be a few odd trophies which will require some skills, time and patience. I knew that it would win multiple awards for 2012 and back at E3, Dishonored is an action-shooter highly worth checking out and it does make me wonder if there could be a sequel after this.
