formerly known as 'Nina' http://www.1up.com/article2/0,2053,1563291,00.asp Namco Confirms Death By Degrees By Alex Fraioli 4/7/2004 Originally given the tentative title Nina in Japan, Namco's third-person action title starring the Tekken series' Nina Williams has been confirmed for release in North America and Europe as Death by Degrees. The game was recently added to the European lineup by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, while Namco itself confirmed a North American version. It's been known that the game chronicles the events surrounding Nina Williams before the first Tekken game, but Namco has recently released several new details concerning Death by Degrees. Nina now gains the use of firearms and melee weapons in addition to her fists, and can purchase new moves as they down more foes and accumulate experience. In a bizarre twist on hand-to-hand combat, Nina can target specific organs by viewing an x-ray of her opponent when activating her "critical hit" technique. ADVERTISEMENT Namco recognizes the growing popularity of stealth in action titles and has confirmed that Death by Degrees will feature areas where Nina must tread lightly lest she risk being detected. Hiding behind walls and pillars is always an option, and Nina can also scan the fingerprints of fallen enemies to gain access to secured areas later on. Namco estimates that the game will take at least 20 hours to finish, a generous length for any action title, bolstered by an approximated 140 rooms to cover. Tekken series characters Heihachi and Anna are said to be in the game, and extra modes like challenge mode, Anna mode, sniper mode, hover-camera mode, and puzzle mode should add replay value.
