The best part about this one is the story. Other than that, well, it's COD as usual.
I'll openly say that I enjoyed this one a bit more than MW2 so I'll give it an 8.0. However, I continue to be a bit tired of the series as they continue to rehash the same things over and over again. It is unfortunate because the "thrilling moments" have gotten to the point where they're really not all that thrilling simply because we've done all this many times before. Too, there is not much to write home about when it comes to multiplayer.
Graphically, I feel like this one did a pretty good job. Some of this may be because I was playing it on my PC rather than a console. In this game I noticed the environments more and appreciated the range of stylistic and design choices they made more so than I have in the recent MW games. That actually surprised me a bit as I didn't expect to find the graphics anything to write home about since the others in the series are pretty average.
For me, the highlight of this game was its story. They took a fun approach with it that had a nice wrap up though the final chapter was not as enjoyable as it could have been. After the "big reveal" it seemed like everything else was just tacked on in order to wrap up the game. Still, this story I enjoyed quite a bit though not quite as well as the original MW.
One fear I have with Blops is that this game will become even more just like MW, if that's even possible, but during a slightly different time period. I'm just not sure they can keep crunching these out year-after-year without a more formal boycott. It's becoming too much. I still haven't played MW3 but I definitely WON'T be playing it for a good while as I'm guessing it's going to be just another slightly different version of the same game. I don't want to ruin it simply by playing it too close to when I played Blops as odd as that may sound. lol
