Area 51 ? Aliens ? Again ?! Not !

User Rating: 6.5 | BlackSite: Area 51 PC
Blacksite is typical fps with some decent ideas and plot which makes you want to progress and game actually helps you with that as it can. I've got it from bargain bin and I consider myself lucky.

In my opinion story is pretty short ( but good enough to catch your attention ) so it's pointless to write about it. But I'd like to clear this one out for anyone who wants to know - this game IS NOT about aliens, and I'm glad it's not.

Gameplay is like it is in most of fps with health "bar" taken from Gears of War and with some decent ideas. You will be progressing with some company most of the time. It is possible to give orders to your crew but most of the time it's pointless to try to use them so it's best and easiest to let them go on their own. There are few types of weapon and what is worse few types of enemies. You can feel some void in this aspect of game as clearly designers had some great ideas like the places when you have to drive and shot from the rushing jeep or helicopter.

Graphics are decent, they don't impress much but also don't disappoint. Characters are well animated and terrains help you to fit into this world. Dynamic lights in game are worth to mention .

Music and sound. While sound is decent and appropriate music is .... music is... exactly. I barely remember if there was any music and that says for itself.

I don't understand how editor on gamespot could write something like decent lenght of campaign which took me like 5-6 hours of playing which led me to all in all, a bit lame ending. Once you've beaten the game there isn't much more left to do so it's a bit short but enjoyable time You will spend with it.

Good:
- Huge monsters
- Some good ideas
- Mood it provides

Bad:
- Music
- Short
- Some little bugs
- AI ( enemies sometimes act like they would want to be killed )
- Wasted potential
