Battlefield 2 was one of the first online FPS games that i realy got into. Yes there was other online FPS games that i played but this one seemed to draw me in and it was also a game that alot of my mates where playing as well, so that realy helped alot.

Belive it or not but there is a plot to Battlefield 2....not as deep as other single player FPS games but it gave a reason for the fighting. Battlefield 2 featured the United States and the European Union VS Peoples Republic of China and a coalition of anti-American Middle Eastern countries called the Middle Eastern Coalition. From what most of the most look like it seems that the USA is taking the fight to them and invading them.

The gameplay in Battlefield 2 is a very very simple affair. You have two sides in a war to capture flags and try and beat down the other side untill they could no longer muster a force to take your side on. The meat and potato of this game is the class system. You have:

Heavy classes: Assault, Support, Anti-tank. They have heavy armor but lower stamina.

and

Light classes: Spec Ops, Sniper, Engineer, Medic. These classes have no armor, but are able to run for a long time.

Both with differant styles and ways of getting the job done and easy to get to use without looking like a day one fool/noob...(i use to do that alot anyway).

Then there are the Vehicles of the game...each spawning on some maps but not all but all adding to the gameplay in a way that could turn the tide of battle if in the right hands. There are about 30 vehicles available for use here is a list of some of them:

M1A2 Abrams.
Desert Patrol Vehicle.
rigid-inflatable boat.
BTR-90.
MEC APC.
LAV-25.
WZ 551.

Battlefield 2 was released on June 24, 2005 in the UK on the PC and then got a port to the Xbox, Xbox 360 and PS2 and that was called Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

Battlefield 2 also got a number of expansions that would add maps weapons and a number of other things that would change things up. Battlefield 2: Special Forces was one and then there was the Official Booster Packs one called Euro Force and the other being Armored Fury.

It may well be an oldish game in this day and age but i have to say if you have not tried this one out yet you may well be missing out on alot of fun.
