Bad Mojo is truly a wonderful adventure game. A bit on the disgusting side, but that makes it more fun.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just finished playing the cockroach adventure game Bad Mojo, which was originally released back in 1996. I remember seeing the ads for it in various magazines but never bought the game as I simply didn't get it back in then…come on, I was 12 years old! A picture of a cockroach with the words, "Bad Mojo" above it didn't grab my attention. Soon after seeing the ad, all thoughts about it were quickly absolved by a little game called Quake. QUAKE. Bad Mojo didn't stand a chance in my 12 year old mind.

Skipping to the present…just a week ago I was looking through someone's Amazon.com marketplace store and saw the box art of the cockroach crawling on an eyeball and instantly remembered the advertisement for the game. A sudden squeal of glee (a very, very manly squeal, make no mistake), followed by an instant buy is what happened next.

The version I got is actually called Bad Mojo (redux) as it's a remastered version which was made in 2004 to allow the game to run in windows XP.

Anyways, Bad Mojo is truly a wonderful adventure game. A bit on the disgusting side, but that makes it more fun. It has a odd charm to it too…the cockroach eventually turns out cute and endearing. Yeah, the cockroach…and the slug…and the silverfish…and all the other nasty pests you come across. It's awesome.

So yeah, I'm the cockroach…and I'm crawlin' all over the filthy floor of this slum / apartment. I'm a BADASS terrorist cockroach too. I killed a spider with a cigarette. I drugged the superintendent. I escaped the trappings of a Roach Corral by crawling over the bodies of my fallen comrades.

I killed a rat with a shower of razor blades. I'll mess you up, punk!

Anyways, I love this game! I recommend it whole heartedly for anyone that isn't easily grossed out and would love to crawl around in roach-o-vision for a while. It's a wonderfully amusing experience.
