Now Playing: Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions - Evolved Trailer

Xbox One owners can today play two more popular Xbox 360 games, as Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions are now playable on Microsoft's latest console via backwards compatibility.

If you already own either of the pair digitally, they should already be in your Ready to Download list waiting for you to access them. Alternatively, you can purchase the pair on Xbox.com or through the console itself. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 costs US $10 / £6.75 / AU $10, while Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions will set you back US $15 / £12, though it doesn't seem to be available on the Australian Xbox Store.

Retro Evolved 2 launched back in 2008 and was awarded a 9/10 in our review--critic Tom McShea called it a "shockingly good sequel." Dimensions, meanwhile, earned an 8/10 in our Geometry Wars 3 review on its launch in 2014. That third title already came to Xbox One natively, but now the Xbox 360 version will be playable if you don't want to buy both editions.

The original Geometry Wars came to Xbox One backwards compatibility last year after originally launching on Xbox 360 as an Xbox Live Arcade game. With 2 and 3 also now available, the whole mainline series is now playable on Xbox One.

Other recent additions to backwards compatibility include Dead Space 2 and 3, Far Cry 3, and Civilization Revolution. Call of Duty: Black Ops II was also added recently after being the most-requested game to come to the service. For more, check out our full list of all the backwards compatibility games.
