Top 10 Best-Selling Games In The US During June 2017

Tekken 7 was June 2017's best-selling game in the US.

The NPD Group today released US video game sales data for June 2017, covering both games and hardware. Bandai Namco's fighting game Tekken 7 was June's best-selling game. May's top-seller, Injustice 2, dropped down just one spot to No. 2. Rounding out the top five for June were Grand Theft Auto V, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and Arms.

Separately, Activision announced on its own today that the N. Sane Trilogy was the best-selling physical game worldwide for June.

With Injustice 2 topping the charts in May and Tekken 7 in June, it's now two months in a row that a fighting game has come out on top. Another notable takeaway is that the N. Sane Trilogy charted so high (No. 4), despite only being available for two days in June. It's the first game in the series to land in the top five since Crash Bandicoot: Warped back in 1998.

Year-to-date, the best-selling game in the US continues to be Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Its publisher, Ubisoft, remains the leader in terms of total revenue so far in 2017.

Total game sales for June in the US rose 1 percent to $375 million.

In terms of hardware sales, Sony's PS4 was again the top-selling platform of the month in the US. You can see our full report on US hardware sales here.

Glad there are fighting games at the top #1-#3 places.

And Injustice which has been released for a while now. Doing pretty well.

Switch/Wii U: less than 20 million units sold,

PS4: 60 million sold.

How is Zelda BotW outselling Horizon ZD? PS gamers praise their exclusives but don't actually BUY them.

Remember both games came out w/in a week of one another so...

@e3man01: Zelda is a classic that has been going strong since the 80's. Its one of those games that people just buy because its zelda.

@e3man01: limited library. You had a console launch with not many options.

Additionally, if I remember correctly, BOTW is on 2 platforms.

Exclusives have never been about bragging rights but customer retention. Love Mario? Go Nintendo. Love, TLoU? Go PlayStation.

Nintendo exclusives outsell their third party because that's not their concern and their first party games cater to a different audience.

It's not worth fueling any console war sentiments to then complain about console war issues.

@e3man01: Exclusives have never and will never be huge sellers. The majority of people just don't purchase them.

@tiringpillow: My point exactly. It seems this "true exclusives" narrative is purely for bragging rights.

@e3man01: Oh for sure. And it's going to be the narrative that the Sony fanboys cling to for dear life while they try and justify their choice of plastic to strangers on the internet, just waiting for the PS5 to launch so they can switch back to the "our games look better" narrative. It's going to be a fun comment sections once the XB1X drops.

Non-Nintendo exclusives don't sell. Never forget that.

@7tizz: Actually 2 on 1 platform and 3 on another. If Xbox would have contributed it'd have been even crazier.

@7tizz: Some games came out in January, some just came out... How is that a fair comparison? I guess this list isn't either though. I'm gonna assume gta is number 1 for the year.

Nvm, I see the list you're looking at. I was just looking at the month.

How is ghost recon wildlands the top selling game of the year, the game is not good, so many great games came out this year, wildlands is not one of them, guess quality has nothing to do with sales.

@yukushi: It is good buddy co-op game, that might be adding to it's allure. My friends and I still play it from time to time... but never on our own. At least until Destiny 2. Or, if that one flops, Anthem.

@yukushi: most gamers are casuals so games like call of dooty and ghost recon sell more. They arent bad games but nothing like some other games that have released.
