Star Wars Battlefront Breaks EA Download Records, Free DLC Coming

There is only one MAJOR flaw in this whole report.

This game was released with all the advertisements of the new Star Wars film, so was essentially a tie in.... If they release another Battlefront, it will 100% be a flop!

EA aren't stupid. I'd be surprised if a major paid expansion or new game came with one of the star wars films.

So they'll likely waste more money making rubbish like this that I have absolutely zero interest in.

Rainbow six has been ruined with Rainbox six siege aswell.

Some very poor games getting a lot of sales is a very bad thing for the video games industry.

When will people cop on and learn and do some blooming research before buying bad games.

It feels like they released half a game just to release ''free'' content later on like: ''Hey see guys? We at EA are nice guys we are giving new stuff to you for free!''

I for one really like what people tend to call the "arcade" feel of the game play -- there are other third person and first person shooters of other styles, its great to have some variety in the gameplay. It's also more true to the earlier games in the series.

The single player experience is by far though the lacking element. The AI of the opponents and even your teammates is fine. The lack of game modes here though is very disappointing. I find on-line multiplayer experiences too intense at times and as I play games to enjoy and even relax sometimes, the lack of single player really really hurts the game as even the instant action checkpoint capture experience is such a hallmark of the series. Couch-op for such an experience would make that instant action even better. The survival mode can be fun but given how much there is in multiplayer, the lack of single player hurts even more. -- Please please please make the single player modes a future update!

So the rumors are true.. people DO like good graphics despite the gameplay.

"with $50 dlc season pass you get free dlc..." that's not free then, is it? Like the $10 I paid for supposedly getting Jakku that you could only get for paying that $10. But, no, it, in fact is FREE. I get Han Solo's op blaster, which I think it's stupid to pay for items that help you you in game...op guns, buffs, etc. You shouldn't have to pay to be a better player.

This makes me very sad, but I'm not surprised at all. Simple mechanics and flashy visuals are going to sell like hot cakes in today's market.

Why even show Gamestop purchases down? More people are buying digital now and more people are going with Best Buy Gamers Club which by far has the best deals for hard core gamers

The game is not bad. Basically content you would get in a arena style shooter with bigger maps. Its better than COD. The TDM maps are some of the best TDM maps I have ever seen

I would get it for a £10. or for £19.99 with all DLCs. I will have to wait a year for price to come down.

Well I got a good deal with Prime, paid 30 quid instead of 54. For that price I'm happy. Lets see if they release enough new free content to keep me interested.It does look fantastic though and its also good fun to pick up for an hour and put down again.

Not a bad game for what it is... but for a Star Wars fan... its mostly just another PvP deathmatch game with a SW skin... or that is how i feel anyhow.
