The newest PS4 update has landed.

A new PlayStation 4 system update has arrived, but don't expect any new features.

Like others before it, 4.07 is focused on improving the quality of the PS4's system performance. The one-line patch notes state: "This system software update improves the quality of the system performance." It's a relatively small patch, coming in at 312.3 MB, according to DualShockers.

The wording of the 4.07 patch is identical to that of the previous 4.06 and 4.05 patches.

Sony (and Microsoft for its part) do not historically launch major, feature-rich system updates during the holiday months. The PS4's last significant update, 4.00, came out in September.

It introduced folders for managing games and apps, while some menus were also redesigned. PS4 4.00 also added HDR support for all PS4s. You can see everything new and changed for PS4 4.00 in GameSpot's previous report.

In other PS4 news, Sony announced this week that the console has crossed 50 million sales worldwide and that this year's Black Friday week was the best in the history of PlayStation for sales.
