PS4 Pro Won't Feature a 4K Blu-ray Drive

Despite its support for 4K gaming and streaming video, the PS4 Pro won't play 4K Blu-ray movies.

Sony announced its new PS4 Pro today, but one thing it left out of the announcement is the fact that the upgraded system will not feature a 4K Blu-ray drive, according to system specifications provided to the press.

The PS4 Pro will support 4K media and streaming, but you won't be able to play any Ultra HD movies with it. The upgraded PS4 comes with the same Blu-ray/DVD drive that the standard model was equipped with.

Sony says its size has been reduced by 30 percent. It was also announced that all standard PS4 models would be getting HDR support through an update scheduled for next week.

On top of that, we got reveals for Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay and Horizon: Zero Dawn running on the Pro.
