Nvidia RTX 3060 Revealed, Cheapest RTX 30-Series Card Yet

At its CES 2021 press conference, Nvidia has revealed its fourth graphics card in the growing RTX 30-series line. The RTX 3060 is the cheapest card in the range yet and will launch later in February.

The RTX 3060 is a strange offering so close to the launch of its Ti variant. It features much more VRAM, with 12GB of GDDR6 as opposed to the 8GB on the Ti. Nvidia says the card will offer twice the performance of the GTX 1060, while offering 10 times the performance in ray-traced workloads. Considering the GTX line doesn't have ray tracing specific hardware, that metric isn't too surprising.

The RTX 3060 will retail for less than the RTX 3060 Ti, too. Starting at $329 for Nvidia's Founders Edition, the company hopes to have them ready by the end of February, hopefully with fewer stock issues this time around.

Nvidia has also announced a new range of laptop GPUs taking advantage of the company's new Ampere architecture, as well as a handful of titles that will get DLSS and ray tracing support soon.
