DC's FanDome event has featured a numbed of high profile events so far, and while the Aquaman panel may have been somewhat lacking in substance and length, at least we learned a little bit more about the highly anticipated Aquaman 2.

For the waterlogged sequel, director James Wan said during the brief discussion that he's "trying to find new things to do that I didn't get around to doing in the first film," adding that the sequel is "a little bit more serious, a little bit more relevant to the world that we're living in today."

The panel's only other participant, Patrick Wilson, said he's excited to see Wan explore "new worlds" in Aquaman 2. "There's a lot of unexplored ocean," he said.

The two spent the rest of the chat reminiscing about filming the original Aquaman, which we called "a movie with its own over the top, tongue in cheek, inconsistent, massive, irreverent, CGI-soaked tone, aesthetic, and world" that "works well enough that you'll be calling Arthur king by the end" in our 2018 review.

As for the sequel, we'll have to wait until closer to its 2022 release date to learn more. This is also how long we'll have to wait for Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game. If the title is accurate, there's a chance it could feature Aquaman, as well.
