Pornhub released the chart below. It shows that traffic was actually up 5 percent among gamers in the early morning hours of 3-4 AM, which the site said was probably when Fallout 4 was installing. But starting at around 5 AM, Pornhub traffic dropped, diving as much as 10 percent from 7 AM - 12 Noon.
"In the afternoon, traffic returned to normal, but after 6 PM, it dropped again when we assume that 9-5 workers arrived home and fired up their games," Pornhub said in a SFW blog post. "After midnight it seems like everyone finally took a break, and traffic jumped as high at 15 percent above daily norms."
Two further charts (see them below), reveal percent change statistics for Pornhub visitors based on their gaming genre preferences. As you can see, sports game fans saw the biggest drop-off compared to an average day (-13.7 percent), followed by action game fans (-7.7 percent), and adventure and strategy game fans (-7.2 percent). Interestingly, RPG fans are lower on the list, falling by just 3.6 percent.
Pornhub says it has some 60 million daily visitors, "many" of which are gamers. These charts were compiled using Google search and web browsing habits supplied by Google Analytics.
Fallout 4 launched on November 10 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Bethesda shipped 12 million copies of the game to retailers for launch day, though it's unclear how many copies of the game have actually sold through to consumers. Whatever the case, the game is clearly off to a strong start.
