Space simulation game Elite: Dangerous has been out since December 2014 on PC and since October 2015 on Xbox One, and it's resulted in some truly incredible stories. Now, we finally know when PS4 players will be able to get in on the action, too.

Frontier Developments announced that the game will launch for PS4 on June 27, available both digitally and at retail. The studio also said that the retail version, which is coming for Xbox and PC as well, will include the base game, its Horizons expansion, and 1000 Frontier points.

Now Playing: Elite Dangerous - Playstation 4 Gameplay

Earlier this year, when Frontier announced that Elite would be coming to PS4, it stated that the game would take advantage of the "unique features of the PS4 and PS4 Pro." This includes features made specifically for the Dualshock 4.

Elite: Dangerous is a massive space exploration game that tasks players with trying to earn money and survive in a universe composed of 400 billion star systems. Last year, a player encountered aliens in Elite for the first time since its launch; you can watch the encounter here. In addition, the developer patched in a memorial to Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, who passed away late last year.

Elite is currently available for $30 on Steam and Xbox One ($60 with all the DLC). When Elite first released, GameSpot gave it a 7/10. You can read our full review here.
