Gearbox held its first gameplay reveal stream for Borderlands 3 on May 1, and two GameSpot editors got some hands-on time with the game afterward. While they took issue with some changes, such as new vehicles that handled poorly, they enjoyed the improvements to combat (inspired by Titanfall 2), interesting loot, and revamped solo campaign. Check out their gameplay video to hear more of their first impressions.

When Borderlands 3 launches, there will be multiple versions of the game available to purchase on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In total, there will be four editions of Borderlands 3: Standard, Deluxe, Super Deluxe, and Diamond Loot Chest Collector's Edition. Each one has unique bonuses and extras available for those that are willing to drop the extra cash on them. Whether you're a Borderlands veteran or thinking about checking the series out for the first time, here's what you need to know about each version of Borderlands 3 so you can make an informed purchase.

What bugs me is that i can seem to find any visual on the collectors edition.

So for $250, I get a bunch of toys and the gimped console version. Fook that!

$250!!??

Wow! These collector’s editions are really getting out of hand. Seems like every game now has a collector’s version that’s in the quarter of a grand or higher price range. Funny thing is that there will be people who buy it. Us gamers, lol… we are a fun and odd bunch.

@videogameninja: Legit considering it. Kinda like the Super Deluxe, too, just for that Butt Stallion skin.

@PyreofKoL: I'm sure it will become available to purchase as additional DLC afterwards. Didn't Borderlands 2 offer the Mechromancer pack as a bonus and now that is available as separate DLC.

I would also expect these to be offered to the alternate platforms like Steam eventually so there is no reason to pre-order just for a cosmetic item.

@videogameninja: it’s only out of hand if we want it to be.

Basically, it’s for the collectors. Let them spend their money however they want.

I'll stick with the base game thanks. I prefer to earn my gear and XP not pay for it.
