One of the best movie tie-in games released and playing as Wolverine has never been this much fun.

As most of us know movie games are usually never any good. Of course there are some excemptions but really most of them are crap and a way to make a buck off a blockbuster. X-Men Origins Wolverine though is a fun hack and slash game based on the movie.

There will be blood in this game. Lots of blood and limbs flying around. That is one of the strengths of this game. Slashing your way through army guys, machete warriors, and even robots is fun. The boss fights are also wonderful even though they may go on for a bit too long. Boss fights include Gambit, the Blob, Sabretooth, Sentinel, and Weapon X as well as other ones featuring government experiments or jungle mutants.

Obviously this game isn't perfect it has its faults. I like story-driven games but the story in this game makes little to no sense. There are flashbacks between missions and its all a jumbled mess. Some of the scenarios of the game are also strange, such as the whole fighing Gambit thing which is really silly. Some of the level designs are also pretty bland. You spend a lot of time in secret government bases with all of their hallways looking the same.

Difficulty level is also interesting. Wolverine can regain his health so playing on Normal difficulty might make the game a bit too easy and playing it at hard feels just right and can get challenging as well.

Overall this is a good, not great, game that is worth a look for any beat-em-up fan.
