game was boring just doesn't work in 3rd person. though i was play a bad mass effect game. 6.5 - 7 at the most. game has nothing on enemy unknown or should i say within
Finished the game. Not bad, but the story was confusing to say the least. By the end I just wanted to finish the game and get it over with.
I really liked the previous XCOM, I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy this game tho, probably when it goes on sale.
I understand what the reviews say about this game, but if I compare my impressions of it to a cover shooter like Gears Of War, The Bureau seems way more up my alley, and I actually enjoyed some of the GOW games I played. I love Enemy Unknown, and certainly no disrespect to the XCOM tradition, but this looks fun. I have to try it.
I'd would rather rent then buy the game.....but eh it still doesn't look that bad, maybe a little tedious and repetitive but im sure it is still fun to play.
Probably will pick it up on a steam sale. The mechanics seem solid, but yeah, it looks pretty lacking. Oh well, Enemy Within looks fantastic, and that's being enveloped into an already phenomenal game.
Think the dev's confused "set in the 50's" with "actually from the 50's". Didn't have high hopes for this one.
This game is nowhere near a 6.0. Sorry Kevin but you got this one wrong. It's got its issues and it could've been much better, no arguing there, but the game is a solid 7 at the very least. Easily an 8 if you're a hardcore XCOM fan.
Great atmosphere, satisfying combat if played on the harder difficulty settings and a lot of fun running around in familiar environments using the xcom weapons. Plus the story isn't shabby at all. Some really cool twists and turns to be found, completely unexpected.
This could've been a good game. I do like classic style graphics/time lines, as well as the waste land time lines of Fallout.
Wish they kept to a strong storyline and held a great FPS, instead of doing an FPS with turn base strat combo. Was looking quite interested into the title but shortly lost that interest.
The A.I. is extremely dumb in this game. They run in front of cover, then hurdle over it, and hide. lol... just fvkin terrible.
Combat is just like Mass Effect.
completely agree with the review. but am still going to play it. Enemy Unknown has great and we need a sequel soon.
Kind of a bummer, I enjoy XC:EU so much... was hoping this would be a solid variation follow-up. Oh well, the x-com series has an interesting past with this type of disappointment. thank golly for XC:EU!
Now I can kinda see what they are going for, I like the idea.
But yeah, its not what I want out of an Xcom game.
I still think this looks good, I like the pause and maneuver idea sorta reminds me of dragon age but with cover and guns.
I said it before (3 times already) and I'll say it again. You can't slap the 'X-Com' name onto a non-X-Com game and expect it to become X-Com.
@Hdhannandon1 Your opinion, much like the reviewer's, is subjective. You think it's good, he thought it was decent. We aren't all the same. :)
@CruiserCaptain Agreed! Xcom:EU is fantastic, my only complaint is that it ended haha! Hoping this new 'Enemy Within' is awesome, kinda got me confused though? Is it DLC or can I buy this new version with new Achievements and so on?
@SrebX its an ok game and cool xcom.
@SrebX its not an xcom game, and its a bad game. If possible, avoid it. I expected so much, and its worse then Star Trek... I think they didn't do a single thing right and would give it 4/10 (it didn't crashed :)). Slow, boring + cheap tricks to buy time to prolong the gameplay time. And the plot... T_T
@jhcho2 What does that have to do with anything?
@Darion350 You don't see the irony in your comment?
