Titanfall Video Preview: More Than Just Call of Duty With Mechs

I am starting to think this is a generational PC gamer thing. For me it was Rainbow 6 and Quake...after that it was the same stuff over and over again and I moved on. This basically looks like a rehash of the deathmatch/team deathmatch stuff we played 10 years ago...just better looking. Perhaps we are simply passing a torch to the new generation of gamers. Us old farts have to look for our entertainment elsewhere.

Certain elements are making me reminiscent of BF 2142 (i.e. running back to the Titan after losing), but that's small. Otherwise I have to agree with others that just don't see the appeal of this game. I can run on buildings, so what. Pass.

It looks good and I would like to try it. However I'm very jealous that it won't be released on the PS4. Although I have a powerful PC and in the past have tend to play the majority of FPS on the PC, the fact that's on Origin and will be riddled with hackers in the first month makes me want to pass unfortunately. I'll keep my fingers crossed they release for the PS4!

I think it'll be good but not what alot of us were hoping for with all that talk of "changing the FPS." And it's on Origin for us PC gamers. Pass.

Not bad, but def not worth building a high end pc or getting an XB1 for. May get the 360 version if it looks decent but even then this is multiplayer only right? Lame.

I am not excited about this game one bit . I don't think I'll be touching this game despite being a PC gamer . I'm happy for those who really are excited for this one .

I was actually excited about this game untill I saw this video. I was hoping it would have more of a sim feel to it and less like an arcade shooter. I would probably be bored with this after the first few hours. Oh well, I might give the beta a try maybe it will surprise me.

I was going to get this game as were some of my friends until we found out its Origin exclusive. Oh well, there are other games.

wow so big words for a lame shit boring game "multi level combat system and vertical movement " ( i can name 2 previous games with vertical/horiz gameplay dark void , inversion) with washed-out graphics.....the previewer was for sure paid to be so enthusiastic about the game !

I for one am a huge Call of Duty fan so having Call of Duty with huge robots sounds fun but if the game has no story mode, no any sort of way of co-op play and small numbers of players online ( on a $500 console ) not to mention bots playing with us then i'll wait till the game is $30 or lower as $60 is too much for a half made CoD game at least the normal CoD games actually come with co-op modes and single player modes

But COD: Ghost murders titanfall graphically and Ghost looked as last gen as it gets, before any xbots calling names, I own both ps4 and xone as well as a top of the line PC(my benchmark score in firestrike is second highest so far in GS history) and Ryse is the best looking game I've ever laid my eyes on.

This is actually one of the first true FPS multiplayer games I have been hyped for in a while. Yes, I am a Call of Duty fan but the last one I was hyped for was BO2. For some reason I wasn't to excited for COD: Ghosts multiplayer and once I picked up a copy and played multiplayer, in my opinion, it didn't deliver (although I did think the Campaign was interesting and Extinction Mode was fun to play with friends). But this game looks spectacular with Titans, parkour, and a new atmosphere. To be honest though my favorite thing about this game right now, just from watching gameplay, is the Epilogue. The aspect of the Epilogue is brilliant and brings more to the table.

Wow so umm...when has Gamespot did this for another game? Respawn is really shelling out money for advertising.

I stopped liking COD maybe in 2003. BUt this looks appealing.

Hopefully mech skills and weapons can be customized greatly And leveling is fun.

This is more than hype. This is flat out lying. They've obviously been paid off, and it transforms my disinterest in the game, to actually hating it.

If it needs dishonesty to sell itself, I don't want it.

If halo 4 added a game type that had enough mechs for everybody it would be more or less the same game.

@exiled_paladin @Gamer_4_Fun You would be surprised. I play that way in Planetside pretty much every day. If I cannot find almost full platoon (4 squads, 12 soldiers in each) and platoon leader is not competent, I leave the game for the day... but most of the days I do not have problem to find such platoon.

The game is designed to "motivate" people to teamplay - in a nutshell, you get more XP with platoon. Platoon leaders have developed habit - and rightfully so - to kick non-teamplayers out of their platoons and make space for people who do want to teamplay, and this simple mechanism of natural selection quickly evolves platoon into group of people who actually follow orders and communicate. As a result, people who try to lone-wolf around are by default not successful, because they will be running into groups of 5 - 12 (or more) enemies, and even if they are skilled and have element of surprise, they will not stand a chance really.

By far, the most teamplay oriented game I have played so far - and I did play a lot of BF2, BF3, BF: Bad Company 2, MAG, SOCOM...
