Divinity: Original Sin First Impressions - The Lobby
Kevin VanOrd shows off where he's currently at with his Divinity: Original Sin review and gives us a look at the skill and spell lists.
This is a good starting video to show you what to expect in the game, but Kevin defiantly is not showing you what the full game is capable of. First off, he was not fully exploring the areas, nor was he showing you that you can fully rotate the camera a full 360 degrees.
The Door that he lock picked did not need to be lock picked, rotating the camera a little you would see a bunch of barrels, hidden behind those barrels was a lever to open that door. While exploring you should always use your CNTL key to high light objects in the world. It helps you to see and find those hidden objects that may be lying on the ground that can be easily over looked while playing.
I cant say enough about how good this game really is and all of the many tactics that can be used while playing and used in combat. Each of the many different char classes give you many options. And yes, there are many classes to choose from at the start of the game and those chars can be customized fully.
So, if you are looking for a very good RPG game, I think you will find that this is a game you will love playing.
I'm barely into it and on several occasions I've found myself not knowing what to do next. I had to run around town, talk to people and explore all around to come across something that ties into a quest.
That, is awesome.
It's so great to get an RPG that feels like a computer RPG again and not the GPS-guided dumbed-down tours RPG's have turned into. Too addicting.
Best CRPG I've played since Balders Gate 2, in some ways it's better. Definitely better than any of the NWN games and it has an editor too for making games. Combat is so cool in an XCOM kinda way. I love the many ways you can have combat turn out, so many strategies. Teleport a bomb carrying goblin over a bunch of oil barrels and get a nice fire show. Huge world, lots of deep dialogue, and the best Kickstarter game I've funded for sure, but even so I'd pay full price for it. First game to keep me up all night in awhile.
Best rpg in YEARS. Divine Divinity was a top 15 rpg of all time for me and this is even better! Well done Larian! I hope it keeps selling well and I hope it gets great reviews! Beyond Divinity and Divinity 2 where not bad but not as good as Divine Divinity, this is there masterpeice here though With Original Sin! Most fun ive had in years on an rpg, amazing combat, great gameworld and filled to the brim with content. Brilliant fun in coop with a friend. It is wonderful to see Isometric rpgs back! If you liked Ultima, NWN, Baldurs Gate or Fallout1/2 give this a go! So far this is easily GOTY for 2014 and its not even close.
Divinity 2 was a fantastic action RPG. MUCH better than the *** sex simulators Biware has been putting out.
This new one looks like a winner too.
One of the absolute finest RPGs ever freaking made. Any rpg made after this will have some extra large boots to fill. This game is AHmazing.
One of my favorite details so far, has been a friend and I were playing and we both wanted to approach a dialogue differently. This caused an argument between characters, which we had to solve with a mini-game of rock paper scissors until one of us had the required number of points (I think it was 5 wins) then that character got their way and convinced the other. It was awesome.
Great game - miles ahead of the other entries in the series. Larian's goofy tone isn't for everyone but it kinda grows on you.
This game is perfect for scratching that cRPG itch; deep, engaging and in true oldie style, almost punishingly difficult until you get the hang of it.
@Born_Lucky I enjoyed Divinity 2 and pretty much everything from Bioware. What does Divinity 2 have to do with recent Bioware games??
@Born_Lucky It is alot better, I enjoyed Divinity 2 and Divine Divinity even more, but This Original Sin is there best game by a long shot. Only aspect the older games have an advantage in is story, its better in every other aspect!
@iskaroth Divinity 2 seems bad at first, but it's actually really good once you play for awhile. It gets pretty deep, complex story, HUGE gameworld, and interesting quests and abilities. And you become a dragon with decent aerial combat. I didn't like it at first because I thought it was a dumbed down diablo type clone, but after playing awhile much later in life I got back into it and found I was totally wrong and it's not at all like a Diablo Action RPG. More like Gothic really.
@iskaroth Trust them one more time, this is the game they've always wanted to make; a game with zero publisher interference and if you check their forums you'll see how they really listened to what players want.
@Alyzen Also rock paper scissors is altered by who has the best Charisma, or if you try to intimidate, it will use another stat to give bonus to your side of the mini game. Very unique.
@donmuath Ya I actually think its a little too easy right now. I want to play again on Hard. If you're good with tactics and use the environment, you can totally rock their world. Magic is seriously powerful if you use your head.
@donmuath the difficulty! thats the thing im most afraid of in the seems to be awsome game
