Best game on the game-boy color.
The Game play is simple. Run, Jump, Run Jump end of level. It’s Just as simple as that. The storyline hasn't changed. You are still trying to save the princess. There is two ways you can play the game. You can either play it and get all kinds of points or you can do a speed run.
All of the music you remember from the original NES version is still there.
There are just a few differences from this version to the NES version. The first is that in this version you start out with 5 lives. In the NES version you only started out with 3. This makes the game easier but there is something else that makes it even easier. There is a new save and continue option. So if you didn't have the time to play it through all the way you can just save it. When you run out of lives you get the continue option. This allows you to start from the level you died in when you lost all of your lives. The original NES version did not have this feature which made it way more challenging.
If you just thought this game just came with the NES remake you are wrong. There is actually another game that you can unlock. When you get 300,000 points in original 1985 mode you will unlock a game called Super Mario Bros. for Super Players. This game is actually Super Mario Bros. the Lost Worlds which was the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2. Theres a calander mode which is kind of fun to play with for a few minutes. There is a mode called vs. You are racing against boo trying to get to the end of the level. There is also the Challenge mode. In this mode you are trying to do certain goals in certain levels.
Ok so there is Super Mario DX and Classic NES Series Super Mario Bros. You are probably wondering which version to get. You should get DX. It's not that the GBA version is bad or anything but it doesn't have all of the features GBC version.
Go get this game right away. It's worth it. You won't be disappointed.
