If you like weird puzzles and a even weirder Twin Peaks type story in the backwoods of Minnesota then this is your game!

User Rating: 7.5 | Puzzle Agent PC
This game is about puzzles mainly but has a hand-drawn cartoon type story thats charming and immersive as well. The puzzles are mostly logical in nature but some meaning a few are confusing. Luckly many of these hard puzzles can be skipped but some may not to progress in the game.

The story starts off with a nerdy government agent that solves puzzles for a living. When visited by a freaky guy in a space suit he solves his first puzzle that leads him to winter time Minnesota to investigate a mysterious explosion that happened there at an erasor factory.

I liked the plot if a bit dull and the different locales are cool. Lets see, there's the town, diner, woods, lodge, ice hut to name a few.

They all are hand drawn in a pencil cartoon drawling but that's colorful. I was drawn in by the story actually. The charactors all have that Fargo type northern accent which really adds to being in Minnesota. The season is winter and there is lots of snow on the ground and even falling snow in a few scenes which I love.

Unlike normal adventure games you can't move your charactor or agent on the screen by a point and click scheme. Instead, in each scene, you can interact with the environment by clicking on hot-spots like a door, a charactor to talk to or a pieace of bubble gum which I won't go into here. It's an effective system that works surprisingly well with this type of game.

The story plot goes for really weird to down right madness and it leads you to somewhere that at the beginning of the game, you will not expect to go which is good imho.

TellTales did a great job with this puzzle game by adding a back story and a mystery to go along with it. The company plans on doing a more with this game and I'm excitied to see where it goes in the future. For $10 you can't go wrong although, I got it free by pre-ordering their new Back to the Future game which was a good deal for $24.99.

If you like puzzles and a sci-fi, Twin Peaks mystery then go for it because I thought it was highly immersive and totally worth it!
