If or when this game comes crashing to the ground and is a total flop, I will be man enough to admit I was wrong, I have been fooled and taken advantage of. I wonder if any of you nay sayers will be man enough admit that you were wrong IF or when the game comes out and is one of the best PC games ever made.
Also, I have around 250 hours spent playing this alpha "tech demo", I feel I got my moneys worth ($150 backer) even if everything shuts down tomorrow.
@nurnberg: I spent 50 euros on this game and have already had 80 hours of entertainment out of it (and it's not even out of ALPHA yet). What a rip off.
@skipper847: it is not likely that star citizen will ever be on steam. However, keep your ear to the ground for CIG's anniversary sales (they happen in November of every year). During the anniversary sale, you can get the game for $20-30 (+VAT, if your country has that).
@halvedlife: a few times per year, CIG does a free fly week (usually during big gaming conventions). Do yourself a favor and try the game. It won't cost you a cent but you may realize why you're wrong.
@fabregas4 PC gamers already own a PC and only buy certain parts that need upgrading once-in-a-while. I bought a new graphics card last month. I didn't throw my whole rig out and buy an entirely new one.
@Kinguard73 @me3639 I'd say you have to spend at least 1000$ to get a console and a decent 1080p TV. I will stick with my 1000$ PC and continue buying games for 15-20$ on steam and GOG. You enjoy paying 60$+ for your games and a monthly subscription to play with your friends online.
