@khanwashere: Meh, I disagree. Open world games are the most fulfilling if they are done properly. The problem with a lot of the open world games its as though the developers just tend to get lazy or otherwise go through the ebb and flows of creating such a massive game (Lazy may be the wrong word as I'm not a developer, but that just how I feel when I have played some of these games). The one open world game at least from a single player perspective that did it perfectly was Witcher 3. It had a great diversity of quests, a large open world, and each quest felt real as it had its own story and background. Most of the quests didn't feel like a grind or overly done. This is where games like Destiny, Division, and some others have just fallen in the trap of making an open world game for the sake of it rather than taking advantage of that landscape and what it can offer. I think it just boils down to the amount of effort that developers want to put into making the open world. I don't think it has anything to do with the genre as you claim.

@naomha1: Supposedly it is the same team for all intents and purposes working on the third that did the first two.

@JakeTehNub: I would have to disagree with this whole heartily. For one I guarantee that Gamestop will be running a deal or the Microsoft store stating, "Turn your current Xbox One or PS4 in for a $200 credit towards the new Xbox S." Totally worth it.

@turianshepard: Just like every other piece of software and hardware out there? Next time I want insight in the tech industry I'll be sure to reach out to you.

To everyone else complaining. The industry moves forward and always has. Its not static, software is always pushing the limits of hardware and hardware is always trying to stay ahead of the curve. Microsoft, just like every other software company, needs to improve on their product. They can't sit idle on decade old technology and expect to stay ahead or with current competition. Not only that but over time older tech whether software or hardware shows its age.

@kazeswen: first off if you read the books you would understand why certain things are done the way they are on the show. Secondly, to be fair George R. R. Martin is no longer helping with writing the show. They still try to get info from him but it's not like what it was before. Thirdly, if you read any of the books they are about 1300 pages long. They now have to introduce 1300 pages of material in 10 hours for each season. Kind of tough to speak of everything in an hour long show.

As a book reader I'm a little disappointed with how quickly everything is moving and the things that we are missing out on. However, I as a viewer have to lower expectations and be a little more reasonable with the direction of the show.

@hystavito: I think some obvious things can be thrown out there, such as marketing being one of the biggest reasons. Think about how many promotional products will be out this Fall with Gears of War. The on screen time, ads, partnerships etc that will be used for Gears alone will be in the millions upon millions of dollars. Then think about the amount of resources that are spent developing the game and everything else that comes along with getting the game to the shelves on stores etc. I would be hard pressed to think that they would have spent 100 million on a game knowing that they would break even. i think that is a little hyperbole on his part.

@virtuasega: So expound on what was wrong with my post instead of just claiming that there are so many dumb comments. I think I was pretty spot on in many of my statements and if thats only response that you can give then move on.

@virtuasega: if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then its probably a duck. They initially marketed it as such, but then pulled back that statement after people were concerned of monthly subscription fees. They ended up changing their marketing to not scare people away. It is 100% built on the foundation of an RPG/MMO which then essentially got gutted for several reasons. In any case, even if it had a story, which it doesn't, the main problem with the game is it is lacking extremely in content. Hell you can't even pick a color for your character's gear. YOU HAVE TO GRIND FOR IT, and even after you grind for it you can't even customize it. Its a horribly designed game in every aspect that actually punishes you as you play more. For example, it makes no sense for you to grind for a gun for endless hours only to now have to grind for another 10 hours just to get that gun to its fullest capabilities. On top of that its not like the events/quests that you are doing are fun, because they are the same freaking thing you did in the first 10 hours of the game. The best part of the game was their RAID, and eventually POE, which was extremely fun and very rewarding. However, the problem with RAID/POE was the fact of trying to find a team amongst other issues like weapon and armor drops. I have an issue when I jump down to an open world, with no map, which isn't needed as there is nothing to do on the planets to begin with, and find myself killing the same enemies in the same areas over and over and over again. Mechanically, it is phenomenal and is one of not so many reasons why I continued to play. They need to completely overhaul the entire game, which is probably why it is delayed. There is no way I could see them going into number 2 with the same formula that they have now.

@robertrenner: Being snookered how? I would imagine you still have a 360, therefore you can play the games that you so desire. They have said it millions of times. It is out of their hands. They are trying to do the best that they can. At least they are trying.
