Ok, well, I'm not a huge sony fan boy, but lately I've been on the go, and want a handheld. Now, I've been stoked to get a PSP because of the games (God of War, and FFCC) but I want to know if it's too late to buy a psp, and a new handheld is going to be announced soon.

Thanks for the help

Well i'm not sure how to answer that ques. I looked at the games to be released this year for PSP on IGN other than Crisis Core and GOW, and they seem OK especially Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion. It's really up to you to decide on what you want. After hearing about the supposed "PSP-3000" i'm not sure what to say although it could merely be an April's fool joke, but if there were no sudden info about a PSP-3000, you should get a PSP. It has really great games coming out later this (Q4)

[QUOTE="xXxArchSagexXx"]Nope, Crisis Core takes place 7 years before FFVII for PS1. It tells the story about an unknown 1st class soldier called Zack. So don't worry it doesnt have any spoliers for FFVII. As i said it takes place 7 years BEFORE, no need to worry!mjarantilla

Chronologically, I know that Crisis Core comes before FFVII.

But think of Star Wars. It's obviously better to watch the Prequel Trilogy after the Original Trilogy (never mind the quality issues of the PT), even if you knew who Darth Vader really was.

My question has to do with the dramatic impact of which order to play each game.

Nope don't worry about it. It doesn't really impact FFVII in any way. In FFVII they'd show you flashbacks of what happened in Crisis Core ok? So if you play FFVII first then Crisis Core, sure it would fill in alot of missing gaps but if you were to play Crisis Core first then FFVII and the flashbacks occur, you'd understand and know what happened. It doesn't really matter the order you play them in. I personally would play Crisis Core first lol

Well, I'm just concerned that NOT knowing the specifics of those flashbacks is part of the dramatic tension of FFVII. So if I play Crisis Core, will the dramatic tension of FFVII be ruined (or impaired)?

Example: Watching Star Wars Episode 3 before the Original Trilogy, and knowing that Darth Vader is Luke's father before that moment in Empire Strikes Back.

It would sorta impair the dramatic tension of FFVII or maybe even ruin it. I get your point now. Play FFVII first then crisis core, then you'd really be tensed about wanting to know what happened and as everything unfolds in Crisis Core, you'll be getting more and more shocked. So play FFVII first man!

Crisis core is an excellent game to play. Blade dancer is a bit difficult but it's ok. Try Crisis Core first!

gosh i feel like im way overpowered only been playing it 5 or 6 hours and i am lvl 29 lol and when i play the story i kill almost everything in 2 or 3 hits or maybe even 1 lol plus i have 3 summons alreadynjean777
Lol you feel overpowered? I've been playing for about 7 hours and i'm level 40... like in 1 measly battle with weak monsters...I had Heavenly as my limit so the DMW kept appearing and getting non-stop 777's lol. In a response to bouddajay, i think FFXIII is going to be similar to Crisis Core but it's still going to have it's differences....we'll just have to wait for it...

All I can think of is Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony and Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology.

Dungeon Siege is real-time combat so if you don't like RPGs with real-time combat avoid it.

Tales of the Whatever: Yadda Yadda is just some weird kid game with a terrible combat system and a worse story, avoid it no matter what.

BladeMaster84

AGREED! You could just try what BladeMaster84 said, his suggestions are good.
