Well as long as you format the larger drive to a NTFS partition I don't see why you wouldn't be able to choose to install gamesto that drive.

Where as making your larger drive the main drive could be more tricky. I'm pretty sure there is no easy way to move a whole operating system to another drive. You could use a program like Acronis that was mentioned in another thread. Just make an image of your drive and install that image on to your new drive. After that just wipe the old drive. Understand that doing something like this is very volatile and it is easy to lose all of your data if you make a mistake.

Personally ...

i have a alienware laptop and a custom build desktop, and from my personal experience a laptop isnt the best choice for gaming:

1. fixed GPU/CPU so you cannot upgrade when a demanding game is released

2. ( i own a m15x) heavy, so not really that portable especially the m18/17x which is intended as a desktop replacement

3.gets reall hot, run at 66deg while casually gaming

id advise you to keep your mac for portable casual gaming/work and buy a premade custom computer (if you have no experience building computers) or build one yourself.

id suggest http://ibuypower.comfor thier awesome looking cases and great work. dont own an ibuypower though, dont have enough gold bars to ship the damn thing all the way to where im living :(

Yea I checked cyberpower pc and I buypower even tho I love how I can customize their comps I Just love the alienware area 51 case it's to awesome and will look great i'n my room. I plan on getting the least expensive one and just buy all the high end parts I want bring it to a shop so they can put it for me or I'll try to see how you do it.

I haven't looked into this much, but I'm sure there is a way you could get an Alienware case and put the pieces you want into it. I'm guessing the case would be extremely over priced seeing as it would be the part that everyone would want. I personally have a computer from cyberpower pc, and I feel that theirassembly quality is not up to par. Luckily with a desktop you can just clean it all up by yourself. Believe me assembly isn't as hard as it may seem. It is just picking out compatible parts that may seem daunting. Just recently became interested in building PCs and it is really easy to pick up atleast for me.

Edit: Did I see someone mention multiple graphics cards? I personally do not recommend that. You are better off buying a good high quality graphics card.

I think I will post pics of my fan setup later. I would like to get some feedback on how to optimize airflow.

I have not had a chance to setup an image through Acronis, but from what I have gathered fromthe company I work at is that it is much like a snapshot of every setting and file that was setup at that time. So I would believe that this would mean that you would lose any data that was added after that date. At the company I work at they use acronis to mass deploy computers so that they do not have to go through all of the formating junk.

Also I was replying to bump this thread.

Hmm okay. I'm would just like to keep it as cool as possible. It's an Msi card but I can not find my card build anywhere. I have just been wondering if my ambient tempature has been suffering do to the placement (upper back end)of myprocessors liquid cooling fan. Since that is the only fan space I have on the back I have been think that I may want to find way to optimize my use of that fan mount.

I'm running a AMD RADEON HD6850 and I have been interested in what my temps should look like. I have just been working on my case air flow and I would like to know whata good temp would be. When I run a 1080 test onFurmark my temps can get up to atleast 83 degrees celcius. But when running a graphics intensive game I usually run at about 76 degrees. I have seen charts that have a Radeon 6850 running at aroung 58 or so on a full load. I just wanted to know is that realistic? I tend to play games hours on end, so I worry about my card.

I am majoring in Computer Science and about to enter into my junior year this fall. I've been extremely worried about getting an entry job. I would ideally like to be working in Silcon Valley in the future, but that will be quite a feat. It's such a rough field to get into.
