Wow...there are a lot of Engineer majors on Gamespot apparently.

I know there is. lol

Yeah I was surprised to see there we not more computer science majors. It seems like you and I are the only ones in this thread studying computer science. Good luck btw. The nice thing about Computer Science is you touch on so many subjects, obiously programming being the focus. But I mean you learn architecture, networking, structure of how programming languages work it's nuts. I plan on focusing in Information Security.

I wish rap these days was more hip hop. I miss hip hop and I don't have the time to search for underground music.

Nice. I have been thinking about getting an SSD to devote to my games. We will see though, they are really expensive.

I was thinking this would be a good place to ask this. Where would you see the increase the most, in load times?

Did anyones games crash last night while running steam? I was running Rift inside of Steam and my game just crashed. My friend who was on TF2 noticed the same crash. What could have possibly caused steam to crash our games, that's what I wanna know.

With multiple cards you will have higher temps and in turn you will need to have good air flow. Also you will need a good power supply. You may see little more speed from the out come but really you would probabl get that same speed if you just spent all that money on a high end card.Somepros arethat installing two cards will allow formore monitors. Also it will lessen the load by sharing the work. I have just heard that it is more stable to run with one card and I just don't feel that two is needed.

It is most likely already set to NTFS follow this path to check.Go to My Computer and in there your drives should show up if they are properly formated. To check if it NTFS click once on the drive in the details box on the left it will have "file system:". If you have trouble finding the drive let me know.

If that did work all you must do when installing a game is change the installtion path to yourlarger drive.

i need to know the best hdd for raid 0 WD will be better

and if we can add SSD with them and if it makes any difference

swehunt

I'd like to ask what you intend to gain by going raid? You cannot mix drives like that for a raid settup. (well you can mix HDD's if you partition them but it wont give you a good performance boost as they will slow each other down due to raid only going to work as the slowest component in write,read,acsess... ...) Take two identical drives if your going to raid or else it's not worth it. A SSD is a much faster option in general for just about anything. Is good burst speed really that usefull, wouldn't faster acsess and random time be much more suitable for most? SSD + storage = win!

Like swehunt stated ideally you want identical harddrives, and mixing SSD with a HDD will only slow down the SSD. I personally do not know what would be a good hard drive. I would say if you have SATA III you would want to get a SATA III drive seeing as it allows for up to 6 Gbits data transfer.

Hi my backup HDD drive is much larger than that of my main drive.. I would like tomake the back up the main drive or at least be able to allow programs like games to installto the backup.

swehunt

Why not install the games onto the backup drive? Are you meaning backup as in a external or a second HDD in your PC? External *may be much slower due to USB and not ideal for programs and games. (*most comes with USB and not eSATA)

Oh good thing to note. If it is an external do not make it your main drive. If you think about it, if your drive is not connected your computer will not boot.
