Well I'm a FF fan and you make it sound like this is the worst FF yet. The fact that it being simplistic, a button masher, no leveling system as of yet and super linear paths. Are all negative aspects. I hope the full game isnt this dumbed down. All icing with no cake. Thats the worst that can happen. Sacrificing depth and quality to cater to the graphics whores.
This sounds like a real disappointing demo, if their going to make a demostration next time put the stuff in that makes it a JRPG. I'd rather have a 10 minute demo with all the good stuff rather than 1 hour demo packed full of nothing.

I'm an FF fan too and i was pretty impressed by the demo (for it being only a demo), its not a button masher, it's just like any other rpg where theres a menu and a confirm button. The demo was completely linear and i think the compass only served to tell you which was u came from, because it leaves a trail. But the graphics are amazing, and there seems to be a lot of potential for variety in the combat (except, I too, could not understand what anything said)
oh man it has been a long time, I think this happened to me too but i can't remember for sure, i think its in a chest in the old ppl's house in the snowy village and i think u have to save the old guy first or something, but don't quote me on this
k battle revolution has no story mode and is kinda boring unless you really, really, like battling. colosseum has has a pretty decent story, lots of battling, and you can get some wicked cool pokemon to transfer to your GBA/DS games i personally traded in battle revolution after a few months, but i still have colosseum, and XD which you should pick up after completing colosseum
Hey does anyone know how to change which channel your 360 defaults to when you turn it on currently when i turn mine on it goes to like the latest stuff or whatever but I would prefer it went on the "my xbox channel" I am sure it is possible to do because on inside xbox's latest video where they were talking about the nxe and showing you stuff i could see that their 360 opened onto the "my xbox channel". Their "my xbox channel" also had the little dot next to it that is currently next to the channel my 360 opens to when i turn it on which leads me to believe i can move it i just don't know how :s J1M-e
the only way it starts up on the xbox channel is if you set up your xbox to not sign you into live automatically when u turn on your xbox, but as soon as you sign in, the default channel will be switched back the the spotlight thing
