why you bought your ps3?

I have 360 too,but i dont have xboxlive so i bought my ps3 beacuase of psn and some games like killzone2,mostly for multiplayer.

I bought it because I wanted it.

3. coz i love and have ps1 and ps2, so it's a no brainer i have to continue to part 3.

Found out I got a nice job for this summer, went out the next day after hearing the news and bought myself one. Most expensive but worth it quick decision buy I've ever made.

i been waiting for sony to start getting their **** together and they have, and are only getting better so i got it. the FREE PSN was a BIG plus also the BLU RAY, and I cant deny the GREAT line up of GAMES.

Ex-Nintendo Fanboy, I wasn't being satisfied by Nintendo's Wii, so I bought a PS3 for the larger scope of the games and a more hardcore experience.

I still like my Wii on occasion, but the soft stuff wasn't doing it for me, I needed something harder to satisfy my cravings.

i have a 360.

while my Xbox 360 is purely for gaming, my Playstation 3 is a multi-purpose machine. it plays my music, i really like the exclusives that are out and are still coming out.

Xbox might have the sweet exclusive DLC, but the PS3 has more exclusive in-house games in development as far as i can tell. (i'll be pleasently surprised if Microsoft can do a strong showing at E3 this year).

etc. etc. etc. lots of good games with pound for pound matching in 3rd party support that the 360 gets.

Blue-Ray movies are getting cheaper with each week that passes, but i don't really have all much of a need for it, as i've invested in external harddrives to stream my movies/shows. Only on the rare occasion of a movie i REALLY want like Iron Man or Dark Knight, will i go out of my way to pick up the Blue Ray. Otherwise my leaisure money goes to adding more games to the collection.

I had always wanted a PS3. I got one at January 2009 and I LOVE it! And every time I browse gamespot and check the games that are comming out for PS3 I love it even more. :D

I bought it mainly because I love video games. Also, the PS1 and PS2 sure did provide me a lot of entertainment; so why not get the PS3.

We got our PS3 mainly for the bluray player (as we were getting an HDTV). Then I realized what all that beast can do. I have to admit, I WAS WRONG. I was stuck on 360 saying the PS3 didnt have hardly any AAA games. I got LBP so the kids could play it. I was pretty impressed with LBP, and all the features the PS3 had. One of my favorite features was that with the PS3 media server I could stream just about any multimedia file wirelessly, directly to the PS3 on tv in HD. Awesome for movies. I downloaded a few demos (MGS4, Grid, Uncharted, Folklore, and KZ2) and was impressed by all of them. I got Folklore for my wife and its great. Then...........I purchased Killzone 2 and was like :O . Now I say KZ2 makes Halo look like a kids game, lol. Now I realize how much untapped potiential the PS3 has.

I got mine because it is better than 360. I love playstation and it is set to have a longer longevity than then the 360. Overalll, it's better.

i got a 360 and i'm sick of my pc bc the games are horrible. i love my 360 for the clancy games and halo, etc. but some games like socom and mgs4, i just really wanted a ps3 for, plus a blu ray and for games like killzone and MAG

....But seriously, I've had the Playstation since the PSX, I wanted to get a X360 too, but the avobe reasons kept me from it

True story. I went in to buy a 360 elite but they didn't have it in the store. So i went home and thena couple of my friends convinced me to buy a PS3 instead. Next day i got it and i haven't regreted it.

I bought it because I'd had an HD tv for about 5 months, and I wanted things to start looking cool on it. The Wii just wasn't cutting it, visually. The blu-ray player was also a really good selling point. However, the main reason I bought it is pure and simple: God of War III. There's no way in hell I'm not buying that game on the day it comes out. So of course, I needed the console that it comes out on.

MGS4 and GTA4

and i had some money lying around underneath the couch, so i thought might as well

Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5, FF13 (we all know how that turned out), free online and the main reason was that the majority of my friends owned one before i did.

the ps3 exclusives are simply better than the 360's. mgs4>fable gears is sick but cmon man that and halo can't save the system. now they just rely on third party support it seems like. plus the ps3 has so many features people don't even know about it that the 360 simply cannot do. once psn is on par with live when its FREE it'll be all over.

thats the main thing holding the ps3 back is psn, once we get cross game voice chat in a party system along with better psn downloads (effin a give us ff7 already! do you not like money sony?)
