why you bought your ps3?

I bought it for the games and features also for FREE online multiplayer...

For God of War 3.

I bought it for a number of reasons;

1. Loved PS1 and PS2, made sense to go for PS3.
2. Reported problems with Xbox 360 (RRoD).
3. I thought Blu-ray would win over on HD-DVD and seen an opportunity to get one cheap alongside a console.
4. A fair few games like MGS4 and FFXIII (when I thought it was PS3 exclusive).
5. I'd just got my last pay cheque from my summer job and wanted to buy something for ME instead of paying rent haha!

I bought it because I:

1.) Wanted one

2.) Got tired of only owning a Wii.

3.) Just got an HD TV and didnt want to buy just a Blu-Ray player.

4.) All of my friends own a 360, while one had a PS3, wanted to try something new.

Mainly for MGS4 and a few other titles.

the competition sucks.

Better exclusives, no rrod, PSN, more free DLC's, blu-ray, the list goes on.

1. i like plystations

2. free online

3. better games

4. is AWSOME

I needed to go next gen to buy Rock Band, and Uncharted pushed me to PS3 rather than 360.

Bought a PS3 when my 5 month old other console went on a 6 week repair trip and returned as a refurb with smoke residue all over it. Will be sticking with sony exclusively for now on. over 1 year and still going strong.

Because of BC, no other reason. Now they discontinued BC, I no longer support them.Needles-Kane

With all the games on the horizon (2006-mid 2007 were some dark days) and all of its features

parents bought for blu-ray, but i wanted one because a bunch of people at my school have 360s and i love to piss them off. and it has the best download games on the planet

I bought mine for the BC and the Blu Ray. But now Im told the Blu Ray drive is shot and that Im not supposed to watch movies on it. "Its a game console". Yes, I know that but what am I supposed to with this stack of HD movies now!?

To be honest, I wasted my money on a ps3 IMO... MGS4 is totally overhyped... only story addicts will really like it, the gameplay is average at best. KZ2 is nowhere near as good as gears of war 2. Multiplatform games are better on 360 simply because way more people have it and nobody I know even wants a ps3. The online is better and don't say it's bad because you have to pay like 5 bucks a month for it.

Because I wanted to play MGS4 and what's next in the Metal Gear franchise.

It was between that and the 360 for me because I was tired of waiting for GOOD new Wii games to come out. :/ Honestly, after Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii the system has been losing serious steam.

There are all kinds of reasons I didn't go with the XBox 360. Primarily, I would never buy a system with a fail rate as pathetic as on Microsoft's machine. I will also never buy an XBox of any kind until they stop charging for online... Honestly, making a customer pay once to buy a game and then AGAIN to play it? That's a rip-off and it's embarrassing that gamers let them get away with it.

Besides that, the PS3's got better guts. It's indisputably the more powerful system. Plus, if you ask me, Sony finally has the whole problem of enticing exclusives under control. Microsoft may have Halo, but I'd rather have MGS4, Resistance, Killzone, and Uncharted anyway. (And if you look around a little bit you'll notice that Microsoft has virtually no enticing exclusives anymore...) There was a time when you could say the XBox 360 had all the best games, but it's just not true anymore because they all eventually came out on the PS3.

Uh? I bought a PS3, why? Well because maybe I wanted one!

I did also get £200 towards my 80Gig which didn't come from any family relations.

I prefered to exclusives, the online free play and the Blu-Ray player. Did you know Blu-Ray players cost more than the PS3? It's value for money!

Because i always buy the newest sony console, simple as that.

They havent let me down yet.
