Yes, but good gameplay is way more important to me. I hate how last gen began with all of those great looking, but crappy, PS2 games. Plus, there are three important factors that make me excuse the Wii's graphics.
1) The Wiimote is the most immersive, next gen innovation that I've seen in a very long time. The high-def battle gets more of my attention when relating to movies not video games.
2) The Wii has better graphics than the PS2 and Gamecube. The original RE4 and MGS3 are two of the most visually stunning games I've ever played and they were last gen.
3) Although the Wii sells faster than hotcakes, the Wii is not a year old yet. As the first real next-gen system in a long time, developers not only have to deal with better graphics, but they must also adjust to a drastically different, but better, control interface.
Many developers have barely gotten reaquainted with the idea of developing for a Nintendo console let alone one such as the Wii. Therefore, I will give a free grace year to developers who thought the Wii would be a passing fad and to Nintendo who apparently thought online gaming was a passing fad. But in 2008, I'm dropping the hammer on any company that half does Wii games just because it doesn't have Blu Ray or HD graphics. I'm also not excusing Nintendo, or anyone else, for sloppy approaches to Wii online gaming.
