I think most people aren't bitter. The feeling is just that Nintendo still doesn't get it. All this casual stuff is great, but someone needs to physically get an envelope and a stamp and mail Nintendo to tell them that the Internet is a great communication tool as well as source of information. Nintendoleft too many questions are unanswered....
Where isa keyboard and/or headset?
Withfirst party titlesbeing the best selling Wii games, why are third party companies leading the online multiplayer gaming for the Wii?
Since you're selling the most, why don't you (Nintendo) lead the way back to the software market of old when the genre of games you like to play didn't decide what system you bought?
I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that I HATE the fact that I almost need a 360 if I want to play a good FPS with my 3 brothers who are scattered across the country. I'm very branI'm an adult who's a kid at heart, and all of my friends are too. Thus, it is way easier (and cheaper on gas) for us to play Mario Party or SSBB or any of the other kiddie/casual games that Nintendo loves to produce over the internet. Mario Kart Wii Online is a great step, but since that one is sooo long overdue, Nintendo (not EA or Ubisoft or THQ) needs to be taking many more steps.
The bitter tastecomes from the fact that being the"King of Multiplayer/Mini games" should translate into being the "King of Online Multiplayer" (next to PC gaming), and sadly it doesn't. Although Nintendo had an entertaining press conference, they still appear to be taking their sweet time getting into Online Multiplayer. With the Wii, they've hit the online part almost dead on with Miis, weather, news, virtual console, and internet browser, but we need keyboard/headset support a lot more than a fitness board or steering wheel. I believe thatWiisales will go even more thru the roof when all these soccer moms, parents, grandparents, and etc.are not just playing games but playing games &trash talking with their opponents across the world.
