DO NOT depend on your friend being able to pick it up. I used to work for GameStop and I don't know how many times we've turned people away because they wanted the guy standing next to him to pick up the game for him. It depends on the store, but we used to go by policy relentlessly: parent or guardian only.

I've generally found all headsets to be complete and total crap for quality. If the mic is good, the headphones are terrible. If the headphones are good(which is never the case), the mic is horrible.

My advice? Get yourself a decent pair of audiophile quality headphones and a clip-on mic. Zalman makes a fairly popular clip-on mic. I forgot the actual product description. Its neither great or terrible quality, but it doesn't limit your headphone selection.

This. I've had $100+ headsets from Altec Lansing, Razer, and Plantronics and they all died within a year -- not to mention lackluster positional audio for being "true 5.1 surround" (the razer). I just installed an ASUS Xonar DX and the Dolby Headphone feature is absolutely amazing, even with my little Nuforce UF-30s (small, but great soundstage and depth for what they are). I also have the Zalman mic and it's great; the mic is crystal clear and is extremely sensitive, but it doesn't seem to pick up much outside noise -- which is good.

Hoping to get a pair of HD 598s soon, but the price just went up again...

Sweet build, man. If you get a chance, it'd be great if you could post some temps. I'm interested in trying out watercooling again...

Wouldn't happen to be an HP laptop would it?

I've got a very similiar laptop and performance is hit and miss with games. As for GTA, I've played it on a far worse processor with a ATI 1GB 4870. It ran ok; at least as well as the 360 version. I think you could run it, but you're going to need to do some tinkering with the settings to get it playable. I know Batman: Arkham Asylum runs beautifully in 1080p on medium settings with those specs, but as I said: Hit and miss.

Well? What is this? People have opinions? Some like it, some don't? No way!

Oblivion and Dragon Age happen to be some of my favorite RPGs to come around in a long time. Are they similiar? Yes. Are they the same? No. Are they perfect? Heck no, and stating that no one can argue that the combat system is bad and has no tactics or that characters/story has no personality is patently false. I guess you just have to look at these things subjectively.

I, for one, love the characters and the story in DA:O. It's simple, but it doesn't need to of complexity near Metal-Gear-Solid preportions to be enjoyable; the characters and their progression, dialog, and art-direction take care of that level of intensity and drama, at least for me they do...

...but that's just my two cents.

[QUOTE="JangoWuzHere"]

Do you know your PC specs?

The only one that might work is oblivion, but I don't know what kinda PC you have.

So far, all I have is just a HP G50-112NR Notebook PC.

The G series typically only have the Intel integrated graphics, so I doubt Oblivion would go over all that well. I know some of the older games based on the Source engine work alright, but other than that, they're really not laptops geared towards gaming.

From what I read, the newer iPods need a driver to work with the PS3 that hasn't yet been made by Sony.

A 10 doesn't necessarily mean that it's perfect. It means it received the highest possible score. There are still 2 negatives listed on the GS review (albeit one of them is all in good fun :) ).But really, is perfect ANYTHING achievable?

+1

Besides the "is it racist or is it not" thing, the graphics look phenomenal and game play looks pretty intense.
