I liked the openining of Riddick:EfBB (on that icy planet)... Dawn of War is cool, too, and Quake 4 isn't bad either...

[QUOTE="ZJI"]Tiberium wars or Supreme commander?ZJI

I haven't played Supreme Commander, so I can't tell you about that game... C&C3 is an "old school" RTS. Basically the controls are the same as in Red Alert 2. Aslo, if you don't own a high end system, C&C3 might be a better choice...

I don't like those RTS like AOEIII that has gameplay of the 90s. I'll get SupCom since you can turtle, I like that.

I also don't like games like Dawn of war or COH where defensive play is not allowed.

Hmmm...yes...I also didn't like rushing. I was also basically a boomer or turtling player, but I got addicted to the W40k universe. CoH is as realistic as a strategy can be, so that is why I'm a fan of that game, too. So, if you don't like rushing, don't buy C&C3, because, as some say, it is a "rusher's heaven"...

First to clear things out... I am not a Fallout fan... I've never even tried it... I am not an Elder Scrolls fan either... I tried Oblivion, but that's it...

But some things are sure...The majority of the Fallout fans (nometter what they say now) and the majority of the Elder Scrolls fans will buy Fallout 3... So, maybe Fallout fans will not be 100% satisfied and Oblivion fans won't be either, but Bethesda will be when they see the sales statistics...Believe me, the fan wishes are secondary... Market analysts are the decision makers...

Not going with fans wishes is what makes a game not sell. Sure bethesda can completely mess up the fallout series and fans of the original will probably still check it out, me included. But after that support for the game disappears. Alienating your fans is what makes any company, whether it be a game company, movie company, etc. lose profits. It might work the first time, but never the second. Just look at driv3r. The game was horrible, but fans still bought it as they were interested. Once the devs tried releasing another crappy version what happened? No one bought it. You can't fool fans twice, they make up about 80% of any companies sales for any given product. Unless they find some way to eradicate the original fallout fans and put in place a completely new one.

I can guarantee you that if beth makes TESV, and it's even more dumbed down than oblivion or even the same, its sales won't be nearly as high as they were before. I can guarantee you that.

You seem pretty sure that fans won't like Fallout if it is something similar to Oblivion, BUT many fans will still accept it and there will be new fans, too. You mentioned Driv3r... Well that really is a crapy game...But according to all the reviews I read, Oblivion is not bad at all...So, even if Fallout 3 would be "Oblivion with guns" (which is not likely) it still could not be a disaster.

Like alkpaz I don't think you understood what I sadi there. i'll make it short for you.

Fallout 3 might do relatively well because fans will still undoubtedly buy it even if beth does ruin the series. However if they dare to make a fallout 4 that follows in the same footsteps as a ruined fallout 3, then their sales won't be close to what it was when they sold fallout 3.

You don't seem to understand me either...What I'm saying is that it might happen, that 70% (for example) of the Fallout fans will like Fallout 3... "Fans" is not 1, 10 or a 1000 people... You probably don't know what will all the fans think of the game until it's out. So, yes they could be dissapointed and say "never again"! But, they could also say "it's different, but the feeling is there..."

Now, this will be my last post on this subject, because like I said earlier, I'm not a Fallout nor an Oblivion fan...

Bioware is making SWG2 aka KotoR Online, of course that isn't the offical name for it, but it is going to be a Star Wars MMO based in the KotoR age. Below is a link to biowares website showing as proof they are working on a MMO in there studio in Austin, TX. You can beleive whatever you want, but I have a source and I know that it is coming.

http://www.bioware.com/bioware_info/press_releases/2006_03_15_Austin/

S3_DarkKnight

I saw proof that there is an MMO in the making, but absolutely no proof that it will be a Star Wars game... or K.o.t.O.R. 3 as you say... I would also be a little bit dissapointed, if K.o.t.O.R. 3 would not have a SP story... although K.o.t.O.R. 2 was screwed up totally with a stupid story.

Darth Malak was awsome in the first game! He was totally a Star Wars villain...But Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion (if I remember well the name) and the old girl ;) were absolutelly weak...I felt like they were not even from the Star Wars universe. So, maybe Bioware will make things right one day...

Alaris83

Based on everything we've heard and seen from Bethesda, how is it not likely for F3 to be "Oblivion with Guns?" I don't know the exact wording, but to paraphrase Pete Hines, "We're going to do what we know. We won't suddenly do isometric and turn based."

I am not saying it won't be anything like Oblivion, but I guess it won't be the exact same thing with different characters, story etc.

My favourite is Knights of the Old Republic... I don't have many arguments why. I just simply loved it. It has a great story and it's a cool game...

[QUOTE="varpad"]Btw, I read somewhere that Red Alert and let's call it the "Tiberium universe" were not two different things when Westwood made the two games. Red Alert is happening before the first C&C game in their fictional timeline... i think... :)Minglis

Makes sense since we see Kane at the end of Red Alert...definately a possibility since Einstein went back in time to kill Hitler why couldnt Kane steal the tech and go back in time and act as the Soviet's puppet master?

Actually, if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense.

As the Allies, you essentially played NATO. At the end of Red Alert we assume the allies win, and the soviets lose yet theyre able to keep their sovereignty. In addition, we see Kane at the end of the game.

Now, in Red Alert 2, Europe and America are challenged by the Soviet Union again. In this conflict we again can assume the allies triumph. Now here is where my theories start: this time, the allies decide to split up the Soviets, take away their power, and form the GDI. This leave Western Europe, America, and other rich countries as the GDI, and the rest of the world as poor masses bitter at being abandoned. In steps Nod, at first a cult organisation that soon gains power and eventually challenges GDI for world supremacy. Perhaphs Kane planned both conflicts of the "Red Alert" universe?

lol or perhaps you making up a load of garbage that hasnt even been discussed at westwood.

and we know the allies won because of the expansion packs :P
