@depman1972 @uncagedpaul_86 It has a few small flaws but it does a lot of things right. People are comparing this to FH2, they are both car games....thats about all they have in common. It was never designed, or advertised, to be a professional simulation of motor racing. It was made to race powerful cars that look amazing on equally amazing circuits. If you enjoy fine tuning your cars to shave 0.001 seconds off of your lap time, you won't be satisfied here. Instead, Drive club are for those who want to get in a car, and drive. Simple as.
I've been playing this for 3 days now and I don't think it deserves a 5. The ps+ version is more or less a demo which offers a platinum trophy. The cars look and sound amazing, driving a ferrari italia at 180 mph in cockpit view is both frightening and exciting! If you adjust your t.v just right, the game looks outstanding. The cars handle well too, you can feel the weight of the cars as you turn corners and if you adjust your speed or direction in a corner, you will be punished for it as you will be sent into the barrier.
Some faults that I agree with is the A.I. It seems unfair that when the A.I bash into you, you are the one that gets points deducted for causing the collision. They also focus too much on the racing line, ignoring you as you try to pass them. However, I think this makes it more fun, timing your overtake perfectly after studying their racing line feels like you worked at gaining a position.
The locations and multiple tracks within are great. The scenery looks fantastic, especially when the race transitions from day to night. With the replay function being added soon as well as the dynamic weather function, I can only see this game getting better as the months go buy.
I wouldn't say this game is perfect, but I am enjoying it very much so far. I'm glad I don't make my choices based on one persons opinion, otherwise I wouldn't of been able to experience this great game.
That's roughly £40 for a game (some areas in the UK charge £50) which is the current price range. I've heard that games for ps4/xbox 1 will cost £55 (US$83) which is way too much in my opinion. I will only buy 1 game at launch if prices are that high. If they're smart, they will keep the price at £40 so that people will buy 2 or 3 games at launch as opposed to 1 game.
I've had it with this game. I've watched the stupid intro video for online about 8 times now. Sometimes I get past the first race, sometimes it freezes on the first race. When I eventually got to explore a bit and reached level 10, it crashed, took all the cash I made and deleted my character. It then gave me a bold headed, flat chested, women wearing defenders as my character. My character spawns 100 feet in the air and dies when I hit the ground, I turn invisible (only my gun is visible) I do a mission on my own when it quits and makes me start again with other players who do nothing but shoot at me...I could go on. I just really hope they fix this as I really want to like this game
Of course PC will have better graphics than consoles. You can't just rip out a graphics card, or upgrade the memory in a console like you can with a PC. Consoles have to make do with the stuff it gets built with from day one, and so far it's done a pretty good job (uncharted and last of us look damn good considering it's running on 2006 tech). No matter how powerful a PC is next to a console I will always choose the console. It's not that I don't understand why pc's are more powerful, it's just that I don't care
