Back on topic. It is never right to kill children, whether it is Hamas deliberately killing Israeli children or the IDF killing Palestinian children as collateral damage. They are equally dead and the effect on the families is the same. Therein lies the problem for Israel: they create as many or more new terrorists through the grief of relatives of the dead.

As for Hamas, any reasonable person should see that the Palestinian people are never going to be in a better position by murdering Israelis or bombing this or that. But Hamas is not made of reasonable people; rather, it is mostly angry young men fuelled in part by dead relatives and friends.

This is why force will never solve this conflict.

This. 1000x this.

I don't know what they teach during physics classes in your neck of the woods... but around here, no, it most certainly does not.

Yep I had the same experience. Our "astronomy" unit was a set of problems and it lasted four days

Space was covered for me in earth science, which was a few months worth.  Then again, southern new england focuses pretty heavy on the sciences, you won't pass or you may barely pass if you don't properly understand basic astronomy and evolution/biology at my local schools.  Depends on where you live

Well I'm certainly jealous of that!

Astronomy should be required for highschool graduation.

The__Kraken

Physics tends to cover that aspect.

Hell no. Why should I give part of my hard earned check just to have some nutjob read my Palms or tell me my future.

Haha :D this post is exactly why I think astronomy should get more time in school.

But he is a troll around these forums. Intentional or not, it is a fail either way!

Oh well like I said its been years since I've been a regular or not ha

Public education funding in general should be significantly increased.

Does astronomy deserve special attention over other subjects? No.

I definitely agree, this is just something I myself feel is something that is barely touched upon in school, and would like to see more time dedicated to it. I was just trying to create a discussion because this is my particular passion.

This is probably the first thread I have created in years on this site. Like the title says, do you think Astronomy needs more focus during high school? Like more optional electives, required cource cirruclium, ect.? I have a petiton on the White House page that I just started, not that I think that matters at all but I thought it would be neat to see how many people argee with me on this issue ha. I'm just curious to see what kind of discussion this would create, as I probably think its a much more important issue than many other people.

EDIT: I don't think the link is working so ill put it here too https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/increase-funding-astronomy-education-increased-focus-curriculum-requiredelective-courses-public-high/RPCnfPjS?utm_source=wh.gov&utm_medium=shorturl&utm_campaign=shorturl

[QUOTE="cheese_game619"]Atheism doesn't deny the existence of God, that is impossible. We just say there isn't any proof. Such a large claim should have some proof. lol@50/50SaintWalrus
God is like Gravity. You can clearly see the effects of said system (I.E the earth's perfect distance, the creation. For gravity, drop an apple off a desk) But neither have definite proof of their existence Which is why gravity is still a theory

This isn't even good trolling, try harder please.

I miss the first five and 16/17ths of it... too bad that last 1/17th ruined the entire show.
