Very cool - as long as the games are decent, I like the concept. I just hope we still get to have the option of buying a dedicated console too - variety is always nice
What's with the weird lines on the PS3 on Dead Space, and the brightness of GTA on the PS3? Very bizarre.... I'm sure it doesn't look as bad to the naked eye, but the screen captures GS have done definitely show it. Very odd.
Man this is a funny article. It was hilarious the first time round watching the fanboys cry at each others comments, and adding the PC screens has just put the bear in the beehive once again ha ha ha
biased towards what? I own a 360, PS3, Wii and PC, though my PC could never cope with the newer games since Crysis... if you mean I'm biased towards the 360, you're wrong. I prefer my PS3 to my 360, but that doesn't mean that the graphics aren't currently superior on the 360. Noticed I said "currently" though - I think we'll see the PS3 really catch up over the next 2 years. What I said was an honest opinion - PC comes out on top in terms of graphics, 360 easily 2nd and PS3 3rd.
Woah!!! Astonishing difference in some cases.... particurly when the 360 and PS3 have to render the branches of trees against the background, the PC makes them both look awful! The 360 still kicks the PS3's butt in most of these shots, but the PC again is like a completely new step. Impressed and jealous I can't afford a rig that could display shots like that! lol
You are right, demosnipe1589. Many people can debate all they want about what they see as art - and this point in itself could be debated extensively I.E. if one person sees something as art, then it can be said to be art.... but still, the overall definition for art is that it has no function other than to be itself as art...
For something to be called true art - it should have no purpose other than itself, to be viewed/heard..... mainstream video games will never be considered true art by those that consider themselves to be art connoiseurs because by their definition, they are created by huge teams to be interactive and to generate money, which is a purpose other than to be... That said, like demiath says - everyone's definition of art is different. If you think something is art, to you, it is. I just can't see a Mario game in the Tate modern anytime soon though.... perhaps someone will break the mould one day and create an interactive game that's only purpose is to exist and intrigue... that will probably be a homebrew game
