Kevin has to understand that not everywhere ppl talk like crazy chickens with over dramatised tones like Americans... There are ppl with monotone, calm approach to things which reflects on their voice. :P I think the main character's voice tone is just fine...
Mark, c'mon... I agree with you that the UI should be user friendly and fast. But software, such as the UI, can be updated at any time in the future. When a console is released, the main asset to be assessed is the HARDWARE. Software can be fixed any time... For a professional game reviewer you seem to be overlooking the basics... (maybe intentionally) Another thing that you said that: ' It's like Sony's been screwing us for so long that it just expects us sit there and take it.' LOL and what about micro$oft? Charging ppl a monthly fee to be able to play online via xbox live for years, while sony never had such charge... Sony is a corporation like any other and will do everything to maximise profits. However, in scrwing ppl up, other companies are much better. Even to cancel the xbox live is an ORDEAL... you have to call them, the call centre number is, let's say, elusive.. You cannot find it easily, amongst other things... Now THIS is screwing ppl up..
