Really my only gripe is a bug that's happened a handful of times where sometimes after coming out of cover or coming out of bullettime and going into shootdodge, Max will kinda dance a small circle before he jumps. It actually looks pretty funny, but it's gotten me dead a few times. Another small quible is how unbelievably accurate all of the guns are at all distances, whether Max is shooting them or the enemies. I know this is hardly a realistic game, but it tries on certain levels, and I think this should be one. Simply put, you shouldn't be able to spray at a target with a MAC-11 from 100 yards away and hit him dead on. As for the difficulty, it was brutal enough for me on Normal, but I was also using free aim. As a primarily PC gamer, I can't stand computers trying to aim for me, as sometimes they pick the wrong target.

To all the people complaining about the enemies not going down with chest shots, you apparently overlooked the fact that about halfway in, almost every target has a high end bullet vest, as Passos comments on a little earlier at the soccer stadium. Same thing with people *****ing about the head shots not killing - at a certain point, they have high end kevlar on their heads, but if you hit them in the flesh of the head, they go down every time. All in all, this game hits the mark for me: it's still good ole' Max, I only wish there were bots on multiplayer so I could at least try that out (no network-no xbox live), it looks fun.

Yeah, this game looks like it's gonna be great. It seems like everybody's just *****ing about the hair and all that, acting like a bunch of children. I did plenty of time with Max 1&2, and yes, it's a little different in the setting and everything, but the narration and the gameplay seems like it's still there from the trailers. I will admit, even with the graphics being as good as they are and everything, I wish they'd use comics only for the cutscenes like they did with MP 1. Even though the graphics weren't close to being realistic looking, that game had one of the best narrative presentations I've seen, even by today's standards, because of the comics and the quality of the voice acting. In MP 2, there were comics, but they didn't have the same impact because there were also regular cutscenes.

You guys badly need to check out Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. The guys who made the Darkness made it. It has two games: an updated version of the 2004 Xbox game Escape from Butcher Bay and the sequel, Assault on Dark Athena. I know it's based on a movie franchise (and a **** one at that), but the games are much, much more interesting. The story is original and serves as a prequel to the movie plots. The original game pioneered first person hand-to-hand combat like you see in the Condemned games and it has great shooting and RPG-esque moments as well. Check it out, you can get it used for like $10. It always got great marks from those who played it, but everybody else just assumed it would suck because of the movies.

Come May, Ben Affleck's going to South America to kick some arse.
