I can't imagine console designers wanting to tie up system processing power doing things other than games, when the vast majority of gamers will never use it. Everybody has laptops and/or tablets. Nobody wants to sacrifice graphics or performance just so their game console can do a poor imitation of what they're already doing on the other devices that they're going to have regardless.

I played the Witcher 3 all the way through the campaign three times. Four, including a NG+ run.
I tried three separate times to get into RDR2 and couldn't keep motivation to get more than 40 minutes or so in.
@Livecommander: so, what if somebody hasn't heard any spoilers (not difficult, even when games have been out for years. You just don't look. Very simple), and doesn't get any extra gaming benefit from playing a game during the time period where others are "hyped"?
If those are your reasons for thinking that playing a better version of a game is an inferior experience just because it comes at a later time, you have nothing.
I have bought fewer than 10 games at full price in the 15 or so years since $60 became the standard. If they jump to $70, I might never buy a new game at full price again. Or maybe make one or two exceptions over a decade, like if the Bioshock guys make another AAA game.
And for a sports game, at that? Lol. Sports games should be a $5-$10 DLC every year to update rosters and stats, with maybe one or two full price entries per generation, only when they do an upgrade into a new graphics engine.
I just hope they don't mess with the control mechanics. The original game still looks great aside from a few dated animations and textures. If they just update that stuff and leave the gameplay pretty much untouched, I'll be happy with it. I worry that it's gonna have the consolized controls and nanosuit mechanics of the the old console version and 2&3.
@blueinheaven: exactly. Shit's stupid. Just another of the endless advantages of PC gaming. The game developer doesn't make that choice. I do.
highly doubt it. If it's true though, I'll be buying on day 1, and it'll be the first console I've owned in over 15 years.
