Mass Effect Andromeda - I am a huge Sci-Fi nerd and this game was amazing. From the SciFi themes to the combat. I enjoyed every aspect.

I am one of the rare players that plays all the big first person shooter games for their story. Advanced Warfare was great and as was BF4. I am looking forward to this game as well as Titanfall 2.
Fallout 4 is amazing! But less story driven. There are good stories there but it is much more on you to make your own stories.
More RPG! I want the main protagonist to really feel like someone I have crafted. I want it to feel like my story not a story dictated to me.
I will break it down by best in Category (Only the ones I have played):
Action (FPS): Planetside 2. A lot of times it feels like real open war. Especially if you hook up with other players on Comms and they are coordinated.
Action (Non FPS): Vindictus. High grind though. Very rewarding.
Sandbox: Eve. But this is space based and it is subscription. If that isn't your cup of tea than Archage. <----Most grind. But true open world. Very Japanessy!
Something close to Guild Wars 2: World of Warcraft. Forget what any haters say. It is a really well done game. Tera is also similar to GW2.
Some less popular ones that are real gems. Star Trek Online, Lord of the Rings online.
I normally play on the normal/med setting. I probably will for my first play through. But I might try it out at its hardest my second time through.
I have two companies that I really enjoy. Bioware and Bethesda. Both have unique styles. Both styles I love. Add the fact they seem to have added a ton of stuff that sounds very interesting like this Stronghold system. Couldn't be more hyped.
Disgeaea 5! All the way. Mad max also wouldn't be a bad purchase.
Disney Infinity. It is Minecraft on Crack. My 6 year old and I play it. Really fun.
@kip_case I am not sure if that means much though. How recent is the magazine issue?:
