Playing Project Diva (F2nd) at the moment.

Looking forward to more localizations of Japanese games. Can't wait for a concrete release date for Blood Drive (Corpse Party). And Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines too if Sony hasn't forgotten about it.

Won't be good for the Vita (and PS4) if they imposed region-locking. Regardless, seeing this confirmed is nice for the folks there. The ability to play imports is always a good thing.

It's possible for them to revoke a game's license if you violated something on the EULA and/or ToS. Still up to them to decide whether to take away your license or not.

Digital games are fine as long as they're DRM-free.

But imagine if the future of gaming is purely a streaming service...

I played a lengthy co-op session of Freedom Wars earlier, and I didn't get disconnected from PSN. But when I tried checking some DLCs for Project Diva, I can't access the PS Store at all.

This is very weird. I guess we can only wait for the issues to be sorted out.

If PS5 goes to cloud based service 100 percent, it might as well not exist to me. And it really could be the end of all playstations. PC will jump in like they are doing now and just keep making user friendly consoles. This really will kill off Sony because they will have absolutely nothing left to show for and nothing that makes them stand out.

Game streaming has great potential, but it won't replace traditional consoles :3

I like my physical retail games, thankyouverymuch!

Merry Christmas to you, too!

Planning to upgrade my 16GB card soon, but this isn't the first time I've seen someone having problems with 64GB cards. Hmm...

If I ever get one, I hope it won't give me issues.

I'm hoping Sony's Third Party Production will bring more Japanese games next year.

If they won't make games for the Vita, then better localize those niche games instead.

1. What are truly the 1st, 2nd & 3rd party games that stand out? ( Apart from Indie games )

2. Regarding quality & resolution: How really good is it? Will i see pixels in movies? I'm I getting HD as promised? Let's say.. compared to my 15' Retina or his Samsung NoteEdge.

3. What are the extra added features that appeal to the majority of people (or yourself). I'm referring to applications or added content that can be downloaded weekly (updates)

Thank you, I know this thread is a little ridiculous.. but it'd really help me out!

1. Adding from the awesome recommendations above me, you should also consider the following:

  • Ys: Memories of Celceta (Action RPG)
  • Project Diva f/f2nd (Rhythm)
  • DJ Max Technika Tune (Rhythm)
  • Freedom Wars (Hunting Action/TPS Hybrid)

*If you plan for a long-term investment, you can get a PS+ subscription. You get free games every month (including PS3 and PS4 games), discounts, and other bonuses (like cloud storage for save files).

2. Not quite HD though. The PS Vita's resolution is in qHD (960 x 544). Regardless, games running in the system's native resolution looks fantastic. If you plan to watch a few movies on it, try converting them to the Vita's resolution first so they'll look clean and crisp.

I should also mention that the first Vita model uses an OLED screen, while the newer slim model has an LCD one. Other than screen type, resolution remains the same in both models.

3. Apart from system applications (Emails, Web Browser, Remote Play, Near, etc), you can download more in the store. You'll get the usual Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter apps. There are streaming services too like Crunchyroll and Netflix.

I have no problem with reviewers stating their opinions on these kinds of things in their reviews. I'll use my own personal judgment on if these things affect my experience with the game and to what degree.

This for me. It's always interesting to read opinions from different viewpoints. But not until...

A review should tell us gamers about the story, gameplay and graphics of the game, reviewers should keep their opinions on sex and violence in a game to themselves.

...they forget the essential stuff that readers need to know about the game. I find it quite annoying when a reviewer mostly talked about objectification, excessive fanservice and whatnot throughout the review, focusing on the smallest things they could find in the game just to further their arguments and make the game seem worse than it is. As a result, readers barely learned anything about the game itself other than 'This game has fanservice, and I hate it'.

What about the gameplay? Does it have multiplayer? How does it compare to other games in the genre? What about the soundtrack? I think it's good (helpful, even) to know how someone feels about a particular game, but leaving the meaty details out is a huge oversight. If said meaty detail tackles controversial stuff as the game's forefront, only then I can expect reviews focusing more on that aspect.

Furthermore, what's up with some reviewers setting up a dismissive and condescending voice in their review? I mean, sure the game has its flaws and execution of some themes could use some fine tuning, but you don't have to subtly sneer at its audience for liking it.
