Hi I'm wanting to get my son a portable game player for Xmas and I'm wondering which of the 2 - the Sony PSP or the Nintendo DS has the most games available.

He loves things like Pokemon, Sonice, Mario Bros. and Rayman.....but on the PC he plays Star Wars and Unreal Tournament 2004 as well...so his game selection might get bigger over time.

What do the peeps here at GameSpot think? Thanks for any help, StratMan23

Thanks everyone for your generous advice and support.  That's what I love about GameSpot....it's a real friendly community.  Well today I went out and found (from a Console Store) a second hand PS2 for 75 Euros - I'm currently living in Holland but have only been here from America for about 6 months.  By the time I got an extra controller, a memory card and 3 games...it ended up costing me around 175 Euros...which doesn't seem bad. : )

I got Rayman, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game for my son, and Need For Speed Carbon.  I hope I did ok.

Thanks again, StratMan23

Hey everyone, I'm thinking of buying my son and daughter......6 years and 4 years........a game console....like a PlayStation 2 or XBox......I can't afford the latest greatest, so I thought you folks here at GameSpot could advise me, on the sweet spot.

If I could get something that they could play with for a 2 or 3 years that'd be great.  I'm a PC gamer

myself, but I think it would be nice to interact with the kids on a PS2 or Xbox.

Anyone have any advice on what would be the best value.  I could spend about 150.00 to 200.00 for

a setup.

Thanks for any help, StratMan23 :)

Hey everyone. I'm trying to find my son a few new Arcade Style Flying/Shooter games like Crimson Skies - which is the only one he has, but...................I'm definitely not interested in Flight Simulation games where you have to actually learn how to fly. He loves to use the joystick and fly, shoot, and kill! But he has no interest in learning flaps, rudders, altitude etc.

If anyone knows of any Fighter Jet, or WWI or WWII arcade flying games where I can get him up and flying and shooting down planes - just for fun - I'd love to hear your recommendations.

Thanks a million, StratMan23 :)

Hey everyone. I'm wondering what First Person Shooters get you killing the quickest. As in, you spawn and encounter your enemy almost immediately. A couple of games come to mind:

Unreal Tournament 2004 - you spawn and you're shooting right away.
Painkiller - you spawn and you're shooting fast and furious.
(A little slower but) F.E.A.R - you spawn and you're killing within a minute or two.

I'm looking to add some more very fast FPS games of any genre to my game collection, and since I mainly play to blow off steam and kill, kill, kill stuff, I need some recommendations from the GameSpot gang ! :)

Thanks in advance for any game suggestions, StratMan23
